To The Moon Joses

I made this card for my friend's son. He turned six a couple of weeks ago and they celebrated on Saturday. I used my SU Pun Fun Set. The swirls are from Technique Tuesday. I embossed them in white and then sponged ink over them to make it look like exhaust. The faux stitching is done with a white gel pen.

I keep forgetting to thank Jenn D. for honoring me with the Arte de Pico award. I watch two extra kiddos on Tuesdays and Wednesdays so my time is short. I will try to fit in my pics sometime this week.

Happy Birthday to Michelle tomorrow if I don't get a chance. I'm gettin an old filling replaced. Yippee! NOT!
PS I didn't do a whole post on Saturday on why I love my baby girl so much, but this pretty much sums it up. Tessa, at two years old.

To Mom with Love

This is a card I made for my mom for Mother's Day. I used my SU Doodle This set. The flower was stamped in Vintage Photo Distress pad and embossed on top of Scenic Rt Grid paper. Yummy! I also grunged up the whole card with the VP ink. I sewed around the whole card with a zigzag stitch. Pretty simple. Have a great day.

I also wanted to share a picture of my little Aaron with his new hair cut. So cute my little man. Without it spiked up though he looks like a little monk. The barber just cut straight across. So silly.

Hip Hippo Ray

Tessa's birthday was yesterday, she turned five. Boy was that exciting for her. Here's the card I made for her. I will post details later.

I used Stampin' Up's Pun Fun set. Colored the image in with a blender pen and Rose Chalk Ink. Then went over it with Regal Rose ink. The stars are wheeled in Rose chalk ink. The Paper Lace is from K&Co. The brads are fromthe Target $1 spot (Nat gave them to me for my birthday). I also used stickles on the ballon, bow, and hippo toes. Green paper is SEI. Pink striped...?

And here's a silly picture of Jakob, Kate (Tessa's best friend) and Tessa. Tessa's hair is courtesy of her dad, but psst don't tell anyone. He doesn't want anyone to know that HE put the rollers in her hair the night before and helped her lie her head down on her pillow so they wouldn't pull. He's too macho. When I took them out the next morning she had quite the afro, but I tamed it down a lot and she was so happy with it. Pssst also don't tell anyone that When I had longer hair Travis used to put those same rollers in my hair so I could have Shirley Temple hair. He can't stand anyone to know that he would stoop to such feminineness.

Baby Update. Look at this beautiful creation...

I had my 20 week ultrasound today. It was interesting to see how different technicians can catch different things in the pictures. For some reason I didn't think her pics were as clear as the ones I had with Tessa and Aaron. She was super nice. To be fair the little one was trying to hide. So here is my sweet cheeks...the head neck and shoulder.

This one just makes me say, "Awwwwww." The little hand on the head and scrawny arm covering the face. Awwwwww.

So are you dying to know as much as I was today? Hmmmmm? Looks like we're having a boy. I really couldn't be happier. Tessa and I are going to be totally outnumbered, but now it'll be just her and I scrappin' together. You all have a great day.

Oh, and look at this one with the hand covering his eye. Just precious. I have to go back in eight weeks because my placenta is lying very close to my cervical opening... just to check. I'm sure everything will be fine.

No Giovanna...Bummer

So, I'm sorry to say that I haven't heard from Giovanna. Although that's not so great news for her it's great news for somebody else that entered the blog booty giveaway.

This is Jakob at the sprayground in town. It's free and the kids LOVE it. It opens after school is out and during the summer I like to go at least once a week. Good times.

I stink your sweet!

I made this card with my new pun fun set. It's just so cute. I had issues with coloring this little guy because the paper was resisting the ink, darn SEI paper. Sage Shadow ink with silk flower and a button. I also used my spiral punch. Hope you all are having a great day!

I just found out that I won a Cuttlebug from LESLI over at Dragonfly Time you should check out her site! She's got amazing sketches( page plans) for scrapbook layouts and cards. Really fun stuff. So my day is going pretty amazingly. Thanks to all who participated in the blog booty giveaway.

Owl Be There For You

We had so much fun this weekend! Thanks so much to the girl in the brown T-Shirt in the background, E!. Michelle was goofin' around...we laughed a lot and ate a lot of M&M's. I've still got to take pictures of the projects we made and the layouts I finished, but when I do I'll post.

Today Jakob is off of school so I'm planning on taking the kids to the Rio Grande Nature Center for a little field trip. The weather is supposed to be perfect!

On to the Owl. Sorry he has a black eye but my glimmer mist oversprayed or rather undersprayed under my mask. I tried my best to fix it but it's still not perfect. Rubons are from Stampin' Up.

So busy today... quickie post

A 4.25x4.25 card for my friend's birthday. I used one of the new CB folders and inked over it in Always Artichoke. Retro Stack papers in the background. The owl is from the Inkadinkado Birds Galore set and is inked in Cranberry Crisp and Always Artichoke.

So I've been reading the book "Into the Wild". I'm about half way through and I'm thinking this guy was stubborn and not too bright. I can't believe how he treated his family. I didn't see the movie, it's rated R. I was wondering how they portray him in the movie. If you've seen it let me know.

They took away a bunch of university parking and built the new SAAP on campus. It's amazing the change that can take place within a couple of years.


5. Every year we go camping on the beach in California with my husband's famly for a week! I LOVE it.
6. I love to cross stitch, my mom taught me at a young age.
7. I speak and understand espanol pretty well.

Birthday boy page and fun in the park

So here's just one more layout. Aaron's 3rd birthday party in March. There's actually a third page that goes with this that has the Scenic Route star paper on top and green on the bottom. For some reason he's really into Diego (Dora's Cousin) I don't think he's seen the cartoon more than twice but he loves it. He got a Diego grooming kit, Diego Walkie Talkies and a lego kit consisting of Mac and Lightning McQueen.

It was warm here last weekend and we went to the park. It was fun to just hang out. They have this "slide" that's really just a bunch of rollers and the kids, and Travis, love it. Here's a couple of pictures... Travis and Tessa on the "slide", he likes to make it go FAST!

Me trying to gather all the chicks to mommy for a pic in the park (I would just like you to know that my dh ALWAYS takes pics of me when I'm not "ready", he thinks he's so clever) Another side note: everyone says that I don't look almost 5 months pregnant, and to them I say, "Well, I am." I just grow "fuller" every day... up a bra size, up a pant size, I just wish I COULD wear maternity clothes and be done with it instead of looking like I just "put on" 10 lbs. Enough grumbling.

And here I sit at my computer with a fire blazing in the wood stove because it's freezing. Ugh!

Are you sick of my scrapbook layouts yet? I really do need to make some cards for the store, but I've been having fun with pictures!

This lo is about my daughter, Tessa, who Adores animals...the smaller the better. She loves to cuddle them and love them and squeeze them and call them George, just kidding (Bugs Bunny referance there). I wish this didn't come up so dark here. I used a Heidi Swapp butterfly mask along with my Olive Glimmer Mist to create the look on the left. "Animal" is done with K&Co sticky alphabet rubons and art institute glitter. I also used the glitter around the butterflies. I've been having fun with my labeler too!

Not Much

Here is a lo that I did about the little bundle coming our way. I used a bunch of scraps and a new paper from MM Noteworthy line.
Journaling: "It may not look like much, this little blob, but to me it means the WORLD! Going into the ultrasound I just prayed that there would be a heartbeat. A year ago I never would have imagined that I'd be so scared, I mean I have three healthy children, but we had a wake up call last year. I lost the baby I was carrying and was subsequently diagnosed with hyperthyroid. Months of medication helped me to regulate my thyroid and I was able to conceive again. So began the waiting game...would I be able to keep this baby? Well, here we are three months later and our baby is doing great. I don't even have to take any medication. I'm normal for now. Our little one will join us in September...can't wait."
We had snow yesterday, YES snow in April in New Mexico. I HATE that. Otherwise things couldn't be better. The kids all went to the dentist today and their teeth are GREAT! I feel good today, besides the sciatica. Take care and have a great day!

On the Planet Earth Again

Thanks for bearing with me as I went through a short but tough crisis over the last week. Here's a couple of layouts that I've been working on. This is Jakob, my oldest, at Chuck E. Cheese's for his 7th birthday. I really like the funky circle die cut for my Cuttlebug but I've only used it three or four times and it's dulled. Have any of you had a similar experience? I SUCK!

I suck at blogging. Too many doctor's appointments and the dh is out of town for the week AGAIN! Sorry. I have completed things but can't find the time to take pics and post.

I had to take Jakob to the doc today because his hands are CRACKING and bleeding... she informed me that it's the antibacterial soap at the school and now I have to take special soap to school for him to use, and he has to put special lotion on so they'll heal.

I had to take Tessa to the doctor today because she STABBED herself in the finger with a knife while trying to cut a piece of cheese, "Because, mom, I'm almost five and I can do it!" She's fine...no stitches...I just have to listen to her crying and bellyaching about how MUCH it HURTS. Maybe someday my kiddos will listen.

I have to take Aaron for his well child check tomorrow. He's mostly good but has some kind of funky toenail thing going on. Don't tell his future wife.

I won't even go into the deets on my wonderful dentist appt today that I went to FOR NOTHING. I just need to go to bed. PLUS I'm at that SUCKY stage of pregnancy when your clothes are getting TOO tight but maternity clothes just look ridiculous. Can I get a break here.

Read some good books lately.

READ you must...

Gift from the Sea by Anne Morrow Lindberg This book, although written YEARS ago is SO pertinent to our lives as women and mother's in this day and age. Wow, blown away.

I also read a book called Rice Mother that I pick up for 25cents at the thrift store. Made me SO thankful for my easy life. Very sad and interesting to read about the Japanese occupation in Malaysia. It is fiction though.

Read the Maximum Ride Series (YA) by James Patterson. I just need to get the fourth book now that it's out. They go fast and they've got a different slant to them.

I also read Ink Heart and Ink Spell (YA). I really like the story line about reading characters out of books, but was bummed because I didn't know there is going to be a third book that I have to wait for. Ugh!

Oh, and then I read this book called Sanctuary that someone gave me...umm I'm not recommending it because well it's a bit tiresome and bland. Okay though.
