Weekend LO

I actually finished a lo this weekend. I had pictures of my daughter with her best friend from an outing we took back in November of 2006. Finally scrapped the experience, I couldn't resist their darling girl's day out photos. Tomorrow the kids and I are off to see an old mining shaft up north of where we live and have a little experience with geology. Should be fun. Have a great day.
Flowers are from Petaloo, paper is from DCWV, Rose stamp is from Stampendous and is stamped in black craft ink. The title is done with foam letter stamps from Li'l Davis and high gloss red acrylic paint. Dymo labeler for journaling.

Baby Shoes Card

This card just makes me so excited for my little one to come. I really need a crop with friends so any of you reading who want to get together sometime next week... CALL ME!
KJ Starre has an amazing lo sketch up on her blog. Check it out!
Image is from Stampabilities. I colored it in using my prisma color pencils and oderless turpentine. I sponged the edges with SU Marigold Morning Ink. The yellow background paper is homemade my Sue at Stampin'Daly. I used my designer label punch behind the "baby" sentiment. The flower is Prima with a metal shipping tag and metal flower from bead kit.

Baptism Dress card

I just couldn't sleep last night...hormones I guess. I always get worried that my thyroid is acting up again when this kind of thing happens but it's probably just the babe. So in the midst of my sleepless night I had a brilliant idea for a baptism card. One of the girls I teach on Sundays is getting baptized this Saturday and I hope she likes what I came up with...
I just used a onesie card as a jumping off point. I used my Fiskars Edge punch for the bottom and the sleeves of the dress. I think it's the victorian lace one. I outlined the edge with sliver glitter and then added the shimmery flower trim across the midriff. The silver, metal flowers are part of a necklace beading kit. I used my 1 3/8" circle punch for the neck hole, added the scallop trim which was punched with my scallop punch and finally, I used my Sakura glitter gel pen to add some bling around the scallops. A little hard to see all the gorgeous details but it's so pretty.
Just a funny...last night I suggested we eat out at a local Soup Or Salad because I was craving salad (oh and because I hate cooking when I'm pregnant, nothing sounds good). We're seated and enjoying our goodies and my dh turns to me and says, "It must be pregnant women night tonight." At first I was like yeah right! Then I took a good look around, heck if there weren't FIVE other pregnant ladies chowin' down on some greens. Too funny.

To Infinity and Beyond

Just havin' a little fun with some Studio G stamps. Again, I colored with prismas and oderless turpentine. Paper is Cogsmo. I used my EK tag punch to punch six tags and then lined them up on the bottom of the card. I'm grateful for my cropadile so I could set five eyelets in NO TIME!
Remember fibers and when they were all the rage? Well, I'm making a resolution to try to use my stash of them on my cards and layouts. I felt this orange firey one went pretty well with the design and I just layered it over some saffron colored ribbon. Whalah! All done.

Head on over to this site at starvingartiststamps for some awesome blog candy!
Have a super night!

Happily Ever After

So I finally got around to using one of the images that Jenn D. sent me in the mail. I actually don't know who this image comes from...Jenn? I used my prisma color pencils and oderless turpentine to color it in. The paper is a scrap and the flower came in the mail from Jill. Brad from Joann's.
Today is a cleaning the car day, especially since I have to take my friend's parents to the airport (she can't drive because of a C-section). The car isn't actually that bad, but still it needs freshening. I was also hoping to plant some more of my morning glory seeds I harvested last fall. It's been so dry here compared to other years. I'm worried what our water bill will be with the garden and all. Everything looks great except the onions. Wonder why.
Hope you have a great day!

My little Princess When She Turned Three

As I was going through pictures recently I realized that I hadn't scrapbooked Tessa's 3rd birthday yet. I had fun with this one, so girly. I used lots of pretty things on these layouts.

Flourish stamps: Inkadinkado
Once Upon A Time Rub On: My Minds Eye
Blue Flocked Shimmer Paper:?
Rhinestones: Given to me by my mom, from a cell phone kit
I made a template for the shaped paper and then traced and cut the three pieces out.
Hope you have a great day.

California adventure- Pic Heavy

Everyone calls them sand crabs but they're not the kind of crabs you think of when you hear that word...they're more like bugs that burrow in the sand and they range from very small to quite large...the boys and girls loved digging for them in the wet sand I personally wish they'd never come out of the sand.

It's hot in the CA desert and the kids love Grammy and Grampy's pool...I loved how Jakob totally thought he could swim and jumped in the deep end...in turn, I almost ended up jumping in in my church clothes to save him...here is is in front with floaties, the safe bet.

Aaron's expression in this picture just cracks me up. This was our first trip down to the beach and he wanted to wear his bucket on his head...Tessa wanted to copy him but hers was too small.

There's this really neat conglomeration of fast food places and train cars in Barstow. I ate a chicken Caesar salad at 8:00pm while the kids enjoyed happy meals...well, all except Tessa who was passed out cold. Travis, ever the "health nut" had a double quarter pounder with cheese. (FYI on our way home from the beach we stopped at a Foster's Freeze and he had this burger called the Big Boss...I wouldn't have touched it with a ten foot pole...but he was in heaven...it had swiss cheese, onion rings, bacon and I think some kind of thousand island sauce...he's still working that one off)
Every year we camp near Santa Barbara I see this building and I say to myself, Misty, you really need to take a picture of that old building before it's gone forever, this year I did. I have no idea what it used to be...it says Rio Grande Oil Co on the sides...probably has something to do with the nearby railroad. Has some cool Morracan styling.

I just love this pic of Tessa with Grampy, reminds me of the good ol' days.

One of the best things about our campsite this year was that someone had hung a swing (branch) from a tree and the kids absolutely loved it.

Aaron and cousin Reid, Jakob and Luke with a dead rattlesnake, dinosaurs in AZ, Aaron Crocket, Cousins on a couch, Cool Travis, Boys in tree, Nice Shades Aaron, Grammy and Grampy, Luke and Jakob in sand, Travis building rock sculptures, the tinniest fish EVER to be caught on a hook, SPONCH!, Bathing beauty Tessa, Our Family, Grampy and Tessa looking at sand cockroaches.

Inkadinkado Congrats Grad Owl

My friend Sarah is having a graduation party tonight. She's getting her degree in accounting. I used Inkadinkado Flourishes set for this card.
Enabler Alert
Let me tell you I had the hardest time choosing which one to get with my 50% off coupon at Joann's. I mean $5.00 for a set of stamps...that's almost unbelievable. They're all so adorable. I already have the Birds Galore but have you seen their other sets? WOW! The dog one is so sweet with the little scottie. I'm not even that into dogs. So anyway if you have a Joann's nearby hopefully they're carrying these new clear sets and you can have some fun. I'll be using my 40% off to get another set today! Hooray.

Packet Card

So, Sue sent me a package of all kinds of goodies and I was supposed to use some of them to create something. Here's my little contribution. The turquoise paper, black square and white square, along with the ribbon were all in the package everything else was mine.
I used my SU Double Line Doodle set and my Riviera Kaleidacolor stamp pad for the images. I sponged around the edges to soften and used my water brush to fill in the images. I cut a scalloped edge from some green paper and attached it to the back. Finally, I added some turquoise sequins.
We've got lots of home projects going on as well as getting Tessa prepared for Kindergarten. I can't believe she'll be leaving the nest. Well, have a great day.

Another Ultrasound Everything is All RIGHT!

He's still a bit shy but he's definitely a he and he's gorgeous (to me anyway). My babies always have their arms in their faces. I think he might be smashing he little nose just a bit though. He seems to have the look of my youngest. Their noses are similar. They said he's weighing about 2.5lbs and is in the 55th percentile. I don't really trust those measurements because so many of my friends have been WAY off. I hope to scrap some and make a thank you card tonight for the girl who watered our garden while we were away. Until then. Have a great day.

Raks from Sue Daly

Sue Daly over at StampnDaly created these beautiful cards and sent them my way. It was wonderful to receive such happy mail after being on vacation! Have a great day.

So, We're Back

We're back from our vacation and I've yet to upload the umpteen pictures I took, but here's one I took back at the end of May. Tessa cracks me up with her pose.
I got a package in the mail from Sue Daly that I need to make something with so hopefully I'll do that soon, but I've got a TON of laundry from the trip. Camping out is a dirty job. Love it though. Have a great day and hopefully I'll get my creative hands dirty soon.

Fourth Baby!

This will be my last post for a couple of weeks. I finished up this 4th of July lo from last year and feel it still needs journaling, but for now it's done. We didn't go watch any fireworks we just had a picnic with friends, did some free hand face painting and went home for sparklers. I hope everyone is having a great summer so far. Take care and blog ya soon.
