Layout, global warming or last days?

Just posting a picture of a lo I did on my MIL and FIL. This is a picture we took a couple of years ago at Disney Land. It's amazing what Weight Watchers has done for them! They look so thin now compared to this pic.I used silk/paper flowers that I purchased at the $1 store for this lo. I scanned it in but I think I'll take a picture of it later. It's so hard to get a true representation of a lo or card on the blog ya know!?!?!

I've been thinking a lot about all that has been going on around the world lately, ie earthquakes, volcanic erruptions, tsunamis, tornadoes. I just wanted to put the question out there...what the heckdo you think is going on? My very close friend thinks it ALL has to do with global warming...I thought to myself that the last time I checked volcanic and techtonic activity aren't even remotely related to global warming, are they? We're very opposite politically and sometimes I feel that gets in the way of us speaking about things without letting politics rule. I love her so much but I have to admit I was frustrated after hanging up the phone. So I'm asking you...what's your opinion. Mass intelligence out there.

I feel horrible for all those that are suffering at this time, 9,000 dead in China, someone from our church is living in China, his mom has no idea how he is yet. My other friend from Church is from Chile and she's so worried for her family.

So, do you think it's time we REALLY started preparing for "something major" or do you think if we just cut back on our greenhouse gas emissions and our carbon footprint everything would be all right? Just puttin' it out there.

Have a thought provoking day.

  1. Ohhh.......i just love that flower heart frame around the photo!!! I think, as with everything........it's a balance between many issues at hand. It's a combination of many factors...but being aware is always a good thing!!

  5. Love your LO! Hope you are doing well! Our planet has for thousand of years gone through many climate and natural diaster phases, and will continue to do so. Perhaps we are just more in touch with the reality of it now and care more about humanity. In this day and age we all need (my personal opinion) need to be repsonxible for our own garbage! Recycing is so simple, even my 3 year grand daughter puts the end of a toilet paper roll and tin cans in a designated place. I keep 10 usable bags in my car for all my grocery and errand shooping. I pray for all of the people and animals that suffer each day. Live a full life and love and treasure each moment, what will be will be! I am so glad you aaked! LOL! Hugs, Deb BTW, I don't have my glasses on, hope there aren't too many t.o.'s!

  6. I am so glad you brought up this. My hubby and I talk about it often. I do believe it's the last days. In Revelation it talks about a fervent heat and everyone says it's a nuclear bomb, why can't it be global warming? Our world is so topsey turvey. Sometimes I think "why did I have kids?" because of all the bad going on, but then I remember God's in charge and He still wants someone to share His precious Word to those in need. I know what you mean about the politics. Seem like calling yourself a 'christian' is so popular right now, but standing up for God's Word and voting for the men who will uphold God's truth is so unpopular. It makes the verse about "this world is not my home" really come alive.

  8. OK, I had too many typos in my previous post, so let's try this again!

    Gorgeous layout! I love it!

I do believe global warming is happening, and I tend to think that the cyclone in Myanmar would have happened anyway, but maybe the severity was because of the warmer ocean temps. However, I don't get the connection between global warming and an earthquake. It's very scary the doom and gloom that is being predicted. I watch Discovery Channel specials, etc. with my husband and girls, and it is definitely a changing world we're living in. The changes in Alaska are extreme!

With all of that said though, we personally do what we can. I read a checklist of things you CAN do to make the world a better place, and I was pleased to see that we already do a lot of the suggested items on the list. So, I think live your life day to day, try to make a difference in the world, and make each day count!!

    Very thought provoking post today!!

  9. What a wonderful layout. I love the colour combinations!
As for your question, we all need to do our little part to bring back balance in this system. We use too much of the resources too quickly.
We have been charged with looking after this world and we are not doing a good job so far and need to do a lot better.

Thank you for leaving a message on my blog.

  10. Your layout is gorgeous Misty - love the flowers!

As for your question, we all need to do our part and that is where I will leave it!

  11. Your LO is just beautiful!! I love how you framed the photo with the flowers :)

To answer your question, as a scientist, I tend to lean toward the Global Warming theory as to why our seasons are getting longer and more harsh. However, if you look back on the earth's history, you will see that our planet goes through periods of extreme climate change. Perhaps we are currently in one of those periods. We all do need to be responsible, though, for keeping our planet healthy!

Thanks for the thought-provoking question today!! Have a good one :)

  12. Great lay-out! Those brightly colored flowers really jazz it up!

The world is scheduled* to end on December 21, 2012. These kind of global events are prolly leading up to it.

*according to the Mayan's and many other (prophetic) sources. Check the History Channel for a show entitled, "Doomsday - the 2012 Prophecies."
