You make me feel so young...

You make me feel there are songs to be sung! I totally dig this house mouse stamp.

"Sing to the Lord with Thankful Hearts". Colossians 3:16

I used my blender pen to color in the image with Cranberry Crisp in and all the browns I could find. I also added some Old Olive on the stump. I used my slot punch to tie the ribbon through. Paper is BasicGrey Fruitcake line.

Have a great day!

Picture a Day

A little love from my scrap room!
A little love from my kiddos, bed head and all! It's amazing that these munchkins are mine. Oh how I love them.

These are my Jan 1st and Jan 2nd pictures...plus a lo I did about my collection of vintage green glass and other doodahs. I used my crop a dile to punch the holes all around and then my anywhere hole punch to make the design. The sticker is Frances Meyer and the plastic letters "obsession" are from Paper Studio. I just used white paint to make them pop!
Have a great day.

Jumping on the Bandwagon

I haven't given in... I swear. Well, maybe just a little. I made a Valentine's Day card. I was in the mood for love and I've had this idea in my head for this card. Enjoy.
Today is a day to CLEAN MY ROOM! Sheesh, it's like a tornado went through there. Laundry everywhere. I'll be thinking of all of you relaxing on your Saturdays.

Recipe: Chipboard bracket painted white. Buttons from FooFaLa. Ribbon from RibbonFX.
Polka dot background made with Technique Tuesday's Swiss Dots and Tempting Turquoise ink. Hearts made with Technique Tuesdays Swiss Dots (reverse) in Real Red. I just drew them and cut them out. Acrulic tile tag with I from Jo-ann's. "Love U" stamped with Versamard and then embossed in white Script Alphabet from Stamp Craft. I think I got it all.

Have a great day!

Pick Me Up, I'm feeling down...Benazir Bhutto Lost

So I went a little crazy on this one. I was feeling really sad yesterday after hearing of the assasination of Benazir Bhutto. I can't believe how lucky we are to live in democratic societies, even with their flaws.
I just can't imagine living somewhere where I had to question my safety and whether or not there was going to be a suicide bombing at the market that day. Nope, I need bread, and I'm going to the grocery store today and not once will I question my safety on the way there. Sorry, this is really depressing. I know Benazir was a Muslim, a true Muslim, who lived the true teachings of the Koran, not some extremist religion made up by men who hate.
I will send my prayers to her husband and three children. I want to let everyone know that I appreciate what she stood for and that her death was not in vain, because here I sit, a solitary SAHM whose life has been profoundly affected by her sacrifice for her people's freedoms.
Sorry, now I'm crying again.
Made this card to cheer me up and give thanks to my friend who is always there for me when I'm feeling down.
Recipe: Doodle wheel and doodle this stamps set. Finishing washers under brads for flower centers. Pink passion ink along with old olive.
Hope you have a great day.

Thanks Bird

Yesterday, China Phoenix II, our local stamp store had a 1/2 off all stamps sale!!!! Plus, everything else was 1/4 off! I was so there. I ended up buying more Stamp A Mania stamps because the workmanship on them is awesome and they're different. I also made a card last night. I really like the way it game out. I used a new color of glimmer mist called Frosty Nights. The embossing powder I used is called Desert Rain, and it's soooo sparkly IRL. Gorgeous baby! My friend is coming over today with her children for lunch and maybe we'll even stamp some more. Have a great.
Recipe: White Craft ink with Paisley background stamp on craft paper. Basic GreyFruitcake: green paper. Library Card spritzed with Frosty Nights glimmer mist. Flower stamps: Technique Tuesday Kabloom. Thank you Stamp: Stampendous. Bird Stamp: Hero Arts. Ribbon, pin, beads.

You 2-Pottytraining

My youngest is like a copy of my dh when he was a boy. I loved that this night they both happened to be doing the same thing and I caught it! The best thing happened yesterday! Aaron, used the potty ALL Day! He's been, by far, my hardest to potty train. To tell the truth, I'm tired of changing diapers... I'm so proud of him today though. Have a great day!

Merry Christmas

What a great morning! It was truly wonderful this morning. I didn't end up feeling like there was just too much and the kids were very happy with their gifts. Jakob hasn't stopped playing his guitar all morning and Tessa hasn't put down her baby pony. The funniest part was the pajama pants my mom made for my two year old, Aaron. They're as BIG as he IS!! Hope all of you had just as beautiful a Christmas. Take care and I'll post tomorrow.
Anyone care to guess what this gingerbread house looks like now! Not so hot considering all of the little hands and mouths that have picked it apart!

Sometimes Martha Rocks

Here's a prettier picture of the felted ornaments I made

I met up with my dear friend Erica, SU demonstrator extroadanair, at Michael's yesterday...pretty much so I could get a sneaky peak at the new catty. Michael's was clearancing a lot of Ms. Martha Stewarts stuff and this little ornament card kit caught my eye. Whatd'ya think? Pretty smashing isn't it? Sparkles like a million little stars. Very cute, they come with HEAVY cardstock to hang the ornament in the middle (pre slit and all) and then you put the ornament card in a vellum envelope. Love it! I made this little pretty for my son's teacher. Hope she likes. Off to his Christmas party now. Have a great day.

Baby Girl...

I just found out yesterday that my cousin had a baby girl. It's amazing how quickly we can lose touch with those that used to be such a huge part of our lives. Growing up we spent every holiday and then some together...all of the cousins. We had so much fun. When I look back now I realize how very lucky we were to live close enough to one another to share such memorable experiences. So here's the card I made for my wonderful eldest cousin, Laura. Very inspired by KWerner's Cards. CHECK HER OUT!
Recipe: Craft white ink with paisley background stamp on brown cardstock. I used little black dress designs "rockettes" across the bottom of the pop out. Foot stamp by Stampabilities is in Regal Rose and distressed with Creamy Caramel and Close to Cocoa. Added the silver ribbon as a finishing touch. I wouldn't normally chose a cool color like this for such a warm color palette but I think it just sets it off!!!
Have a great day.

A little birdie told me...

So with all the snow and the cold I wanted to make something as a little pick me up. I am LOVING sequins right now. I had so much fun with them while making the ornaments that I feel like incorporating them in everything! I altered the tag to match the polka dotty paper and it has a friend quote stamped on it. I also did some rubbing on the front pocket by placing this netted stuff in the pocket and then rubbbing my orange prisma over it! Have a great day
Recipe: Bird Stamp, Hero Arts; Ribbon, May Arts; Felt Flowers, Target $1 spot; Spiral punch, Stampin' Up; Glimmer Mist in Tiger Lily, Tattered Angels; prisma color pencils; oderless turpentine;

A Christmas Tradition

I love this time of year, picking out the perfect thing or making something so sweet for those special people in our lives, but I hate, hate, hate, the commercialization of it. What do Transformers or Barbie have to do with the birth of our Savior?

A Christmas tradition we started to curb this is to tie the gift giving in with the story of the Nativity. Our children are given three gifts each as a representation of each of the three gifts baby Jesus got on the day he was born. We read Luke 2 on Christmas Eve and many stories about giving all the way up to that night. Yes, there is the "magic" of Santa who brings the gifts in the middle of the night, "how does he do it?" But we want our children to know the real reason we celebrate this time of year because we were given the ultimate gift when Christ was born.

Nativity Log

So, since I've given her her present I can now post the mini book I made for my rockin' friend Jenn. She can't stop collecting nativities and instead of getting her yet another one I thought I'd give her a way to track them all. A gorgeous picture of each nativity...who gave it to her...when she got it... where she bought it...so on and so forth.

Recipe: Papers from Basic Grey Blitzen pack. Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Olive. Ribbons from everywhere. MM RubOn and shipping tags which I ran through a large eyelet in the back for storage.

I totally made the book myself with my own chip board and all. Very fun. The binding is a little something I like to call popsicle stick and rubber band all glammed up with ribbon and beads and pearlized pin. Have a great day!

Joy To The World

I bought these letters in Flagstaff at their LSS because they were on clearance and I already had this package of blitzen papers. I wanted to keep it simple because of storage and all but I think I might go back and stamp so swirls with versamark and add dazzling diamonds. Y'all have a great day!

Robin's Egg Anyone?

I remember the first time I ever saw a robin's egg. I was in the first grade that year. We were living in Michigan, right next to a lake and there was a dock that went out into the water. My brother and I used to fish for this huge catfish off of that dock and ice skate around it in the winter. One day I walked out onto it and as I looked out over the water a shock of blue caught my eye. Laying beside the dock in the grass was a bright, blue robin's egg!. I remember being so impressed with Mother Nature that day... anyway.... sorry about the trip down memory lane. Prisma color pencils with OT to color this. Paper scraps and a Creative Memories circle cutter. Scroll down for a chance to win some blog goodies and have a great day!

9 Square Floral

After being inspired by Tim Holtz's blog to use my alcohol inks...I played with them yesterday.
I used Eggplant and Lettuce inks on the "frame" which is made from the waste of a memory card game after punching out the cards. It's glossy chip so alchohol inks do so well with it. I took another tip from Tim and used a piece of felt to make my own stamp pad which I used for all the flora. Some of the flowers look lighter because I spritzed them before stamping. I then used Ice Stickles and glossy accents to finish off the flowers. Here's a close up of the bottom right hand corner. Have a great day and don't forget to scroll down and enter to win some BLOG BOOTY!
