Bumper Crop

Look at this INSANE amount of carrots that we pulled out of our garden today. They're so good and spicy. Some of these carrots are so HUGE...like four inches across at the top.
Now what's even crazier is the SUPER, INSANE amount of turnips we pulled up. One of the turnips is, quite frankly, the size of my one year old's head!I loved the result of the spiced peach jam, and applesauce. Didn't enjoy the slaving over the stove. Can anyone say SALSA?!?!?!?

Bugs o plenty

You know this bloggin' thing is hard to do all the time. I had fun with this card. None of my cards won at the state fair which I knew would happen because I'm NOT at professional level. I don't spend five hours on one card. You should have seen some of them. INSANE. My page won a ribbon and I won a second place in scrapbooking on a double lo of my daughter and her cousin.
Have a great day.

This little booger...fills me with joy and consternation

Look at that sweet smile and those dreamy blue eyes...dont' let them fool you...he's a tornado all wrapped up in a toddler body!

What a serious mess. I love how he EATS the noodle that Aaron just picked off the back of his shirt!

State Fair Entry: Holiday

I made this card for the store...it didn't sell. Maybe people don't buy Easter cards anymore?!?! So I fancied it up a bit and made it my entry in the Holiday category. The egg stamp is from Impression Obsession. The flourishes are from Technique Tuesday. I just used ink and a water pen to fill in the egg. Hope you're all having a great day. Mines' been good.

State Fair Entry #2

This card was for the Non Occasion category. I wanted to make a circle card just to do something different. I used the Eastern Blooms set along with Delight in Life. The background patterned paper was made by inking up my white cardstock with various colors, stamping with versamark and then adding clear embossing powder. I heated the powder and once set went over the whole paper with Pacific Point ink. I call it my "clown collage". Definitely different from my usual style. Oh, the stems were embossed with Desert Rain embossing powder...really shimmery IRL.
Have a great day y'all.

State fair entry: Birthday

Here's the card I made for the birthday category at the NM state fair. (Thanks E for the image). Had fun layering it up. I added a couple of screw head brads to the ppr as the finishing touch. We'll see how I do as I got entered as a "Proffessional" just because I'd won a blue ribbon in the past. I'm not sure I'm near as good as a "Proffessional".

A little bit of life right now...

Working out. This is the floor of my car. I work out at a friends on Mondays and Fridays. I work out with Jenny on Tuesdays and Thursdays and sometimes I take Wednesday off but sometimes I go dig rocks!

Foggy mornings...it's beginning to look a lot like fall around here. The smell of green chile roasting...mmm. Speaking of green chile. Jenn and I split a 30lb box of mild and then I split a 30lb box of hot with Debbie. So, yup, I peeled, chopped and froze 3olbs of roasted green chile. I mixed the hot with the mild. You may ask, "was it worth it?". Well, I'll let you know next year.

The semi at the left of the pic was on fire when I was coming into town I drove right past it (no traffic jam then). When I was leaving town I snapped this picture. It brought me back to two years ago when my friends and I were involved in a car fire. There was never a traffic back up like this though. Thanks New Mexico for always going overboard and giving us yet another traffic jam!
Aaron started preschool. He goes for a couple of hours Monday through Thursday...just enough time for me to run to the grocery store and take the recycling in to town. Maybe go work out tou.
Hope you're having a great day.

It's a rainy, rainy day here. I LOVE it. My FIL is out back pouring concrete and I'm helping the kids with their homework. Life is good and busy. I didn't even get upset when I heard a crashing noise and found this in the kitchen. Notice the blur that is Jonah at the bottom of the pic. Accidents happen right? I'm tired and I wanna take a nap. Tortellini soup for dinner cuz it sounds amazing. Hope y'all have a great day.

Bug Birthday

"Sending you Worm Wishes on your Bug Day"
My kiddos had a birthday party to go to today and I wanted to make a fun card for the new eight year old. A little bug vignette if you will. I really like this set...I should use it more often. Hope you're all having a sweet day! My in-laws will be here shortly so I'd better go straighten up!

Angel of Mine

I love this southwestern angel stamp by StampAMania. They're a company out of New Mexico. They're wood block stamps used to have laser cut images in the wood. I'm happy to own a few. I wanted to try her a bit more subdued this time (see below for other variations). I think I like her bold though and colored with prismas and gamsol. I can't believe I ever used to dread coloring a stamped image. It's so therapeautic. So my two oldest are off to their second day of school. Aaron and I are trying to find things to occupy his time...he doesn't want to go outside by his lonesome. Have a great day!

Loco Lizard

Bright little guy isn't he? I had a blast coloring him in. Hope you're having a wonderful day. This is our last day of summer vacation. School starts tomorrow. It will be an early morning.

Farewell NM

My mom has just left my house this morning. They're moving across country to Pennsylvania. I feel so sad right now. She's never been more than a state away and now I'm not sure when I'll see her again. I'm praying she'll get to come here every once in a while too. She raised my brother and I all on her own and taught me so much about being a good person I don't think I'll ever be able to live up to her example. She's also a grandma who spoils her grandkids rotten with candy. My mom's got a crazy side too...I can't remember how many times I've told her, "TMI, mom, TMI!!!". Well I'm off to work out and get outta this slump. Have a super day.

Tangerine Tango Baby!!!

I don't think I've done a monochromatic card ever or at least not in a REALLY long time. The paisley CB background is probably one of my favorites...I just added some extra TT ink to make it pop. Hope you're all having a great day. Did a workout by Jillian this morning...I'm dying.

Floral Fun

One of my fave color combos. Real Red, Cameo Coral and Kiwi Kiss. Just a simple little note card. Hope you all have a great day!

PS all those in the ABQ area...just wanted to let you know NOT to eat at Taco Sal. Really bad experience there.

Graduation Blossom

My niece is graduating from highschool in the Phillipines. I should have made and mailed this out ages ago. Oops. I hope she likes it anyway. This is the first card I've made in what seems like forever. I'm pleased had some fun adding color to the solid image with my blender pen. Have a great day!

I just thought this was hilarious. I love a good laugh.

Wednesday Lunch

Chickadees, grapes, wasabi peas, quakes, choco pretzels, quakes, cheese, grapes, carrots, soy nuts, quakes, choco pretzels.

The kids love eating this way. I wish I had more veggies on hand and I told them the pretzels were "dessert" , hence, they'd better not eat them until the other food was gone.
I'm feeling horrible today...sore throat and popping ears. Praying I feel better so I can work out tomorrow.
Hope you have a great day!

Guess who's walking?

This video is just a snippet of the actual ability my 10 month old now weilds. He is by far my earliest walker and it just amazes me. Maybe he'll be an early potty trainer too. A mom can hope can't she. Have a great day.

Aaron's surgery

Aaron goes in to get a second set of ear tubes and an adnoidectomy.
This boy was NOT happy about having to put on a hospital gown even if it had cute tigers on it. They brought him a warmed blanket andI laid down in the bed with him because he refused to get in it and after a short time he fell asleep (getting up at 5 am does that).
He woke up when the anestheologist came in and seemed to be fine...that was until they put up the bars and started wheeling him away from his mommy. I think I was a bit more freaked out than him though. I didn't know what to do with myself and was informed that I'd be spending the next hour or so in the waiting room. The doctor came out and said everything went well and then another 50 min of waiting ensued. He had a difficult time coming out of the anesthesia.
But here he is afterward. The nurse told me that he didn't want to see me until he had his pants back on. Silly kid. He was very quiet for himself and couldn't walk straight. Super happy about the popsicle though AND the three cups of juice...so spoiled. I love him so much and I'm really grateful for modern medicine. Aaron can hear again.
