Pasture Birthday

I was given this stamp set a couple of months ago. I'm not sure how long it's been retired, but I think it's pretty cute. I used Beate's Weekend Sketch for this card and it's a larger card than I normally make. The sentiment inside is "Pasture Birthday". I used my blender pen and ink pads to color the images.

Recipe:Ink: Creamy Caramel, Close To Cocoa, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, OldOlive, Basic Black, Ballet Blue
Accs: Hole punch, 1/2" circle punch, buttons, American Crafts ribbon

I've got all my kiddos home with me cuz my boys are coughing like crazy. They've had the steroid dose and I hope it helps soon.

Feelin' Better all the time

made this card a cinch for me to make. I actually got inspiration for this card from a card that Jill made a while ago. It's been in my head ever since. I've been so sick that I couldn't get out of bed this weekend and so I had to ask many friends to cover my Young Women Basketball and church responsibilities (which included me do a sharing time activity for the older kids). This card will be for the special lady that coached my two bball games last Saturday. I'm so grateful to have such amazing friends. Have a great day.
Recipe: Stampendous Fresh Bloom Stamp; God's Gifts sentiment stamp; Inks: Groovy Guava, Taken with Teal, Real Red, Apricot Appeal; blender pen; ticket corner punch; ribbon from Beate, paper studio brads, fruit punch stickles

My Baby's Birthday

Today is my oldest son, Jakob's, birthday. He's turning seven, hard to believe that, it just goes by so quickly. He's a HUGE seven year old too...the doc says he's the size of an average ten year old and that he'll probably surpass my measley 5'6" when he's eleven or twelve. YIKES! So here's the cutest card ever that I made for my baby! I love him so much, he really is such a help around here, already taking on manly tasks with daddy. Too fast I tell you.

Robot and star images from SU Toy Box. "Celebrate" from Studio G. The seven stamp is from Nostalgiques. I colored the image with prismas and OT. I wrapped wire around the stip to hold the "7" on.
Here are two layouts about my baby boy. One really old one that I made when he was still just a wee one and one I made Thursday. I used my Creative Memories Circle Cutter for all the circles on the new lo. The brackets are Technique Tuesday. "My buddy" is Sassafras Lass and "Thor" is art warehouse.
BTW I hand lettered the title on the old lo...so thankful for stamps. Have a great day. We're off to Chucky Cheese's.

Stake Presidency Thank You

I used Beates Weekend Sketch #29 for the inspiration on this card. Today was Stake Conferance. The two hours actually went pretty quickly this Sunday since services began at 8:00am. I wanted to make a card to thank our Stake Presidency for all the hard work that they put forth on our account. They have made us feel loved and cared for and I know that they are truly doing the Lord's work. I used an image by Stamp A Mania. If you have not heard of this company, I have to tell you, you're missing out. The detail in their images is amazing and the stamp comes on a wood block that has been laser cut. Just beautiful. Plus I got this stamp for half off when my local stamp store had an after Christmas sale. There's a windmill and old horse shed just like this down the road from us, well it's a little worse for ware right now, since the wind has knocked over the horse shed and the windmill has lost it's top, but it still reminded me. Here's the card I made using the stamp.

I colored in the image with my blender pens and inks. I used several different greens including Always Artichoke, Old Olive, Garden Green and Wild Wasabi. The Windmill is Weathered Wood by Ranger and the ground is Scattered Straw by Ranger. The barn is Chocolate Chip and Close to Cocoa with a hint of Scattered Straw. The red is Real Red. Clouds done with Soft Sky. I used my Priceless stamp set to add swirls to the background. Finally Lime Peel and Patina stickles were added for bling (hard to see in picture). Here's a close up, the dots are stickles! Have a great day

Have a Teruffic Day!

I bought this stamp set from Beate when she was "cleanin' house" a couple months back and I absolutely adore it!

I used Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge. Her sketches really help me break away from my same old, same old routine.

I colored Ruff here with my prismas and some OT. I then shaded around with a warm gray prisma. The flowers are cut from some WRMK paper and the paw brads are from Wal-Mart some unheard of company makes them. I sure hope you all have a TERUFFIC DAY!

Congratulations on your new little monkey!

Lookee what my hubby made for me. I only had to
beg for four or so months. He is so talented with a table saw. I love that man! Anyways I am so excited to have my ink shelf, ah, to have everything at an arm's length. I just need to fill in those empty spaces, hahaha. BTW the top row of slots is too tight for ink pads, any suggestions?I am such a LUCKY LADY!

So here's my take on Beate's latest sketch. This paper was so fun to work with and so was this Changito image. I used my blender pen and my Rouge colorbox cat eye ink to color in the little dear. Waterbrush and Soft Sky to give the image depth. I sewed a grid on the green circle to tie it in with the paper. On the inside it says, "On your new little monkey." Four of my friends had baby girls last week, in succession.

Octupus Smiles

I made this card for Beates Weekend Sketch Challenge #13 It's a fun, different fold for a card.

I didn't tie ribbon over the edge as Beate did I sewed some on the bottom of the front flap. I loved using these bright colors. I used my blender pen and marvelous magenta to color in the Mr. Octupus and then cool caribbean around him. I also used my new sentiments from Verve Visual. Head on over to Julee's blog to check out a sneak peek of her new stamp set coming out at the end of this month, it's stunning. This is my first time using fishy friends and I really like it. Have a great day.

Loads of Birthday Cheer Beate's Sketch

Wishing you loads of Birthday Cheer. I used Beate's sketch to make this card for my friend Nicole's mom for her birthday. Nic said that her mom loves bright colors and this truck stamp. So there we go and I am pleased to tell you that I was able to use my 40% off coupon at Hobby Lobby and get me a Cuttlebug. So stoked. I've seen so many cute cards with this and I hope to use it on my pages too. That leads me to the CBed bg on the card. I wanted it to be feminine even though I was using the Loads of Love truck. I used my prisma color pencils and OT to color in the image. I also used the paisley bg on the green paper with Teal Staz-0n. I drew the present and "put" them in the back of the truck. Have a great day.

Beate's Sketch Challenge

Here's my entry for Beate's Sketch Challenge. I had so much fun with this and I did turn the sketch 180 degrees. The cowboy kid image really didn't fit the other way. I used cranberry crisp for the paisley and star. I used my prisma color pencils and oderless turpentine to blend the colors on the "kid". I love this set and I'm so happy I ordered it when it was available. I used my blender pen on the grass, star and the paisley. Have a great day!!!
7/11/2007The first is a daytime pic and the second is the pic I took last night under my ott-light. Which one would you pick?

Beate's Sketch Challenge: Hello Friend

Got my signs turned in, around 682 of them. At 40 cents a sign that adds up to.....$300.00 before taxes. That should be nice for the trip! Jakob, has a T-ball game tonight at 6:00. I will try to get some decent pics for a lo. It's not super windy, raining, or cold today!. I made this card for Beate's Sketch Challenge. She has such useful, easy sketches. This one might go to the store for some deserving customer. I keep telling myself I need to make manly cards for FD.

Technique: I stamped the Stampendous flower on watercolor paper with black Staz-on. I then used pumpkin pie and cranberry crisp inks to fill in the image with a blender pen. Super easy. Cut out the circle with my Creative Memories circle cutter and added orange chalk to damper the bright white! 3 buttons. Patterned paper is Daisy D's and Kaleidoscope by MME. I hand wrote the sentiment and used my deco scissors to cut the bottom. Finlally I added orange glitter glue to the pollen dots for added sparkle.

Thanks for taking a peek.
