Mini Book of US

Here's a little 4x4 mini book I finished putting together last week. I just need to fill it up with pictures and journaling of me and my hubby. The binding is the coolest part... it's a rubber band and a sucker stick woo whooo! The shipping tags are for the journaling...back and front. I love that little canvas frame from Li'l Davis stamped with stamps from October Afternoon. The green outlined flower is cut out of a post it note. Hope y'all have a great weekend. I'll be off in the morning to do a photo shoot for a family in our church! Pray that the weather and the sun are cooperative.
The is the back and front of the album.

Baby Lion

Lookee what I got. Isn't this set sooooooo cute!??!?!

And here's the card I made with it for my friend who is having her eighth child, a little boy who will be named Thomas. I used the sketch from Julee Tillman's mojo monday post for my inspiration! I used my prismas and OT to color the images. I used my blender pen and soft sky to "paint" the clouds in. The paper is all scraps from my stash and the "b" is from the Target $1 spot. Enjoy and have a great day.

I WANT SOME GRUNGEBOARD!

I can't wait 'til this stuff comes on the market!
Have a great day!

Losing Weight Again

Some of you may have seen this lo (friends and sb.com alumni) but I need to post it here! To inspire me. To keep my weight down. Even though this medicine is kicking my butt or rather making it grow. I need to work out twice as hard now to keep my body healthy. So here goes... where there's a will there's a way, right? Gosh, I sure do hope so.

RAK and Wall Canvas

First off I just have to tell you how much it means to me to receive a personalized envelope in the mail! Not junk mail, not a bill, not a statement, no... just a simple little piece of paper that lifts my mood and puts me in a delightful mood for the day. Thanks to my wonderful friend, Michelle, for making my day. I love it Sista'! That ribbon stamp is amazing!!!!

And guess what!?!?! I actually finished my wall canvas from CK PHX. I really didn't like the papers they used in the class so I bought my own and finished it up. ANOTHER huge thank you to my sweetie for making the gorgeous frame for it out of a strip of molding. I just need to add pictures and journaling on the tag and wahlah, a masterpiece. FYI, I found some similar thin canvas boards at Hobby Lobby for so cheap you wouldn't believe it. I think that you could get like four almost 12x12 boards for under five bucks and then add a smaller like 3x5 board to it raised up like the "family" block on mine. The canvas is inked with a quick quotes, mocha, chalk ink pad. Have a great day!

Congratulations on your new little monkey!

Lookee what my hubby made for me. I only had to
beg for four or so months. He is so talented with a table saw. I love that man! Anyways I am so excited to have my ink shelf, ah, to have everything at an arm's length. I just need to fill in those empty spaces, hahaha. BTW the top row of slots is too tight for ink pads, any suggestions?I am such a LUCKY LADY!

So here's my take on Beate's latest sketch. This paper was so fun to work with and so was this Changito image. I used my blender pen and my Rouge colorbox cat eye ink to color in the little dear. Waterbrush and Soft Sky to give the image depth. I sewed a grid on the green circle to tie it in with the paper. On the inside it says, "On your new little monkey." Four of my friends had baby girls last week, in succession.

Frakenstein's Finger

For those of you who are squeamish, look away,.this post is not for the faint of heart. On Halloween, Jakob, was rushing out the front door and smashed his poor finger. I think it looks totally disgusting but I'm not sure what to do... my dh want's to put a hole in the nail and release the pressure. I think that sounds very dramatic. Have any of you ever dealt with this before? I'm going to be making some baby cards for the store this weekend. Have a great day!

Parky's Pals

My daughter started preschool after my oldest went off to school. She was so lonely. I found this program at our local community center and she has just loved it. Ms. Diana and Ms. Darlene are the sweetest teachers. She'll be leaving preschool and moving on to kindergarten next year and I hope she loves that just as much.

Cutest Bat Girl Ever!

Don't ya think? I mean she looks so darn cute in these pics, I had to scrap em' even though there's no great story behind them. Just my sweet baby girl wanting to be just like her older brother. Had fun with the papers on this lo. Borders around pics are created by using a big scalloped scissor and then notching the center of the scallop with a small circle punch or just freehanding it. It seemed reminiscent of bats. Used a glitter pen on patterned paper to give sparkle and the plastic letters are by the Paper Studio. The pink ruffled trim is from RibbonFX. Clear buttons are from Foo Fa La. Have a great day!

Missing my Hubby & Bargello

I really can't wait 'til Travis gets home tomorrow night. I haven't been sleeping well and the kids are missing him like crazy...he has gotten to visit some really cool church historical sights though, beingin Missouri, he says he wishes I was there, me too honey.

I really haven't done anything productive lately, no time... but I've been worrying and and praying for the people in California dealing with the fires. I can't imagine what they're going through.
This card is made with the Bargello technique on the paper. I seems complicated to do but it's really not once you get the hang of it. A piece of mesh is used over the balloon "basket".
Have a great day.

My Girls

I just have to post and tell you what an amazing Saturday I had. I coach the greatest group of girls in church volleyball. The playoffs and championship game were held yesterday and my girls took second out of nine teams. They're amazing. It was a long day and they gave up over half their Saturday to be there. Thanks, ladies!

I made them up little gift baskets and these cards to go with them. Each card is a bit different but using the same sketch and basics. I used Beate's weekend sketch as a jumping off point. I had to make eight of them, not too many but just enough to drive me nuts. Thanks for taking a peek. Have a great evening.
Recipe:
Stamps: SU Priceless, Sassafrass Lass flowers, SU "thanks"
Inks: Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels (wish you could see how shimmery it is here), Pumpkin Pie, Certainly Celery, Positively Pink, Black Staz-On
Other: Heidi Swapp edge distresser

Happy Halloween, well, not yet, but anyways... a card I had a happy time making. I printed out the sentiment and then painted around the edges with an orange acrylic paint. I then painted the spider and webs in black. The piece de resistance is the pop tab buckle, which I painted with same two colors, and then threaded the ribbon through. Have a gtreat day!

Finally...a page!

For some reason I've had difficulty finishing this page. I tried many different things before finally deciding to draw the paisleys with my water color wonder crayons.
This is my daughter and her closest friend Kate. They were flower girls together in a friend's wedding. Kate's a year older and that has seriously cut into their play time as she has started kindergarten this year. I hope they always remember the fun times they've had though.
Stampin' Up: watercolor wonder crayons
Sassafrass Lass: "Friends" clear alpha stamps and clear flower stamps for title
Paper Studio: Flower Brads
October Moon: "Forever" rub on

Birthday Circus

Jumping through hoops for your birthday. I don't know about this card... I really wanted to do something fun and funky but this might be TOO much. I used my new CB funky circle die cut and added some orange peel stickles to them for dimension The hippo is a Rubber Soul clear stamp. $1 ribbon from Michaels. I wish I could re-do the flower "stem" and have only one beaded stem, but it wasn't a stem to begin with so I just went for it. Artsy interpretations allowed right?

I'm off to work out and to take Tessa to preschool. I need to go see the chiropractor, my arm is still out of wack three weeks after it started acting up.

Have a great day. Misty

You Inspire Me

I was pretty happy with the way this card turned out. I love this paper by Daisy D...so much so that when it was on clearance at HL I probably bought 10 sheets of it. I couldn't help myself. Chipboard Fleur de Lis (sp) from Technique Tuesday. Flower by Prima. Colorbox Chalk Ink around in warm red to color chipboard. Thanks for looking. Have a great day!
