First card...

So here's my first card since da baby. I just used scraps that were lying around my table. I like it for getting back into the groove. Things look a little off kilter, huh?

Opening Those Peepers

His eyes will probably be blue like his brothers'. Hard to tell right now. Yesterday was a toughy. He was so grouchy and wanted to nurse all day! OUCH!. Look at that chin. It's hard to get good newborn pictures. I'm going to try to do some with a black background soon. It's almost dinner time which means Jonah will be waking up so I can feed him while everyone else eats. Smiles. Take care everyone. Just sleep deprived with nothin' to show ya'

I haven't gotten a moment to do anything besides try to nap and go to doctor's appointments. Jonah weighed in at 8lbs 14oz today so he's gained 12ozs in 4 days!!!! He weighed 8lbs 2oz when we left the hospital on Friday. Sheesh. Plus he measured at 22 1/4 inches. He's an inch longer than we thought he was. He's taking up all my time just now but hopefully I'll be able to do some scrapbooking soon. My creative juices seem to be flowing in other directions right now. I'm also trying to finish reading The Outsiders for fun.

My world is consumed by this little guy right now...sorry folks.

A Little Frankie for You.

A card I made earlier in the week. I love this Halloween stamp set, Booglie Eyes. The plastic "crystals" were mounted over orange squares of paper. Nothin' fancy. Have a super Sabbath.

On a funny note: here's a picture of Aaron showing daddy how Jonah eats. Travis loves to take silly pictures that I later find on my camera.

He's Here!

Jonah Benjamin is finally here! He entered the world at 4:59am on Wednesday morning. Weiging in at 8lbs. 7oz. and measuring 21 inches long. Here's a couple of pictures. He just looks too funny in that bottom one...a little like popeye with the fist action. We had to spend an extra day in the hospital because he had respiratory problems, but all is well now. I'm happy to be home and surrounded by the people I love. I'm exhausted and elated. Thank you all so much for your well wishes. I've finally got ankles again! Woo hoo! Better pics to come later.

Oops, he's calling me. Gotta go.

For Nicole...sorry you never received it...

I remark sheepishly. Poor Nicole was so sick and I made this card for her to cheer her up. I just never got around to giving it to her and admittedly she's a whole lot better now, just not totally recovered. What a horrible visiting teacher I am. Bad Misty.
So anywho. I first sprayed the blue cardstock with Frosty Nights glimmer mist. Next, I just mounted a sticker on cardstock and trimmed it out. Laid a piece of tule over top and sewed a pocket...added flower glitter in the pocket and finished sewing. I used a tiny dragonfly stamp to create the border strip and sprayed it with Tiger Lily glimmer mist. Lastly, I punched the circle, wrote my sentiment and sprayed it with Olive Vine glimmer mist. Walah, all finished.

So today, my dearest husband got told off over the phone while I was standing in Target. He had called me for the third time to ask how I was doing. I told him nothing was going on and I just wanted to keep busy to which he replied, "NOTHING!". Yes dear, nothing. He was acting so frustrated I practically yelled into the phone, "What, do you think I WANT this baby to stay inside me, do you think I'm holding it in on purpose?" He quickly realized his gaff and apologized profusely. Sheesh, he's worse than my mom who keeps calling me EVERY day to ask me, "Have you had the baby yet?". The two people in my life that I'm sure to call call FIRST are giving me a darn headache. Sorry to rant but I want this baby out. I haven't gained ANY weight in the past month but my stomach has gotten huge and I'm starting to worry about how big this little boy will be when he enters the world. Aaron was a HEALTHY 9lbs 6oz and I really don't want to deliver a 10lb plus baby. Thankfully I've only purchased one package of Newborn sized diapers. We probably won't be needing many of them.

On the plus side...the weather is very nice today and my FIL is making huge strides with building the closet that will house my wonderful water softener...which will then allow me to have a DISH WASHER...well, I have one now but I don't use it because our water is so hard and I would just have to rewash the dishes anyway. Do a little happy dance for me on that one.

Silly Spider...

Halloween is for kids. Just having fun with one of my freshly mounted stamps. Booglie Eyes is such a darling set of stamps.

I have an appointment at 11:00 today and hopefully things are still progressing. We'll see. I'm not sure I'll post again until the little guy arrives...depends on how bored I get.

Nada, nothin', nope, zilch, zero, not happenin'

But here's a picture of my other babies having a blast with their grampy. He loves to get them all riled up and they love it too. It is getting so stinkin' hard to be patient. I have cut and mounted about 15 stamp sets while trying to be patient...we'll see if that helps me get the creative juices flowing. Orange Day = Happy Day

So, I am now officially three days overdue, but the ultrasound and monitoring showed that baby was fine and fluid is fine. As of right now I am dilated to a 5 and I "could go at any time". If nothing happens my induction is scheduled for next Friday. Can you imagine me walking around at a five for the next five days?!!?!??!?! Crazy. I've always been a three before when I went into labor. Oh well. I made this card for a very special friend and my zinnias are bloomin' like crazy so these things make me happy. Have a great day. I'm going to take it easy and see if THAT works.

I feel pretty, oh so pretty...

YEAH RIGHT! I'm huge and an alien is attacking me from the inside. UGH. Come OUT BABY BOY! I was wanting to create for a call and this is what I came up with. The beads are actually silver, huh?!?!? Stampin' Up Polka Dots and Petals stamps. Zig Marker and Some Dazzling Diamonds along with a silver sparlky gelly roll pen. Walked up and down the mall today for a couple of hours...went to Hobby Lobby...ate a spicy taco and he's still comfy and cozy. Have a good night all. I might be teaching my class again this Sunday, SHEESH!

If one more person asks me...

Just kidding, but seriously I'm really TRYING to go into labor here. No baby boy yet. I've had some good contractions, but nada. He really feels like he's trying to come out throught my stomach at the moment, I don't think he likes being squeezed. Heehee. If I haven't had him by Friday, they'll be scheduling an induction and I have to go in for an ultrasound to make sure he's perfectly fine just where he is. BUT I sure hope he comes SOON! I've been really trying to keep busy. I went visiting teaching today and to the library and up and down my road hauling pieces of asphalt to fill in the major pot holes. Sheesh, what more can I do? Well, apparently I need prostaglandin, but my in-laws (love them) are sleeping on the hide a bed right outside my bedroom, so I'm not likely to be gettin' any of that. So I'm just thinkin', "SLOW RIDE, TAKE IT EASY." Love that song. Made this card for my brother. I'm gonna go do some jumping jacks. Have a pleasant evening.

It's an oldie but a goodie. I really like this lo and I think I will use it again today. Orange just makes me happy. We've had chilly weather in the mornings but then it warms up quite nicely. I think I will take a walk with the kiddos in just a bit...maybe get things moving. Take care and have a great day.

Creamy Green Chile Stew

YUMMMMMMM!
Saute
1 onion
1 tsp garlic
4 chicken breasts cut up
In pot add above to
2 cans chicken broth
4 cans great northern beans
1/2 frozen container autumn roast green chile
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cayenne
Turn down heat and simmer for 30-45 minutes
After it cooks add
2 cups sour cream
1 cup whipping cream
Eat with tortillas or french bread. NO LEFTOVERS ON THIS ONE!

State Fair Today

Today, Aaron and I are going to the state fair. Let me first say that I'm sorry I haven't posted the blog goodies, yesterday was insane with a flat tire on BOTH of our cars, a birthday party to attend, and a doctor's appointment. When we get back this afternoon I'll be sure to try and pull something together. I've gotten one tire fixed and the other looks like there's something wrong with the valve stem. So anyways, I did this layout for Kim's challenge and it's not the greatest because I submitted the first page to the state fair and then began work on the second...matching it up was a beast! Have a great day.

Nothin' Major

I made this card for my friend Amber a couple of weeks ago. It's okay but I'm not sure I'm good at the whole monochromatic thing. Cuttlebug for the background. Polka Dot's & Paisley stamp set image embossed in white and inked over with Tempting Turquoise Ink. Fun ricrac and a silk flower.

I had another appointment today and "things" are progressing on the baby front. Let's hope by next week we have pictures of a sweet little bundle of joy to share with you all. Just look at how big my bulge has gotten. This is me on Saturday, 38 weeks. I wonder if I'll have another 9lb 6oz like Aaron. We'll just have to wait and see, but everything seems to be going well and my midwife said to me that "this one should just come flying outta ya". One can only wish.

I will definitely try to post the blog booty tomorrow. I've been working on signs from home and trying to sell some of Tessa's old clothes on craigslist and it's eating up my time.
