Here's to havin' some Mojo

Hi Everyone! Feeling even better today...determined to get Tessa to Preschool today and get the house in order.
I used Julee Tillman's Mojo Monday Sketch for this card. I am LOVIN' the way it came out. Purely Pomagranate paired with oranges and Groovy Guava makes me happy. The sentiment is from Studio G stamps. The flowers are from the Jumbo Doodle Wheel.
I also am beginning to think I'm in love with the orange polkadot paper I used behind the main image. I've used it SO many times in the last year. It's very versatile.
It was cold yesterday but today seems better and I hope to be able to work outside a little.

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge

made this card a cinch for me to make. I actually got inspiration for this card from a card that Jill made a while ago. It's been in my head ever since. I've been so sick that I couldn't get out of bed this weekend and so I had to ask many friends to cover my Young Women Basketball and church responsibilities (which included me do a sharing time activity for the older kids). This card will be for the special lady that coached my two bball games last Saturday. I'm so grateful to have such amazing friends. Have a great day.

I'm giving up on potty training for a little while, until the tike is more willing I guess. I still have to add journaling to bottom right corner and I was thinking of also adding the cowboy kid image because of his boots. We'll see.

On a more personal note.
Last night I was on the phone with my SIL when she heard from her husband that President Gordon B. Hinckley had died. This is a sad loss for our church but at the same time I'm happy that he can be at peace and be with his wife again. He was 97 years old and had recently joked that the only thing keeping him here on this Earth was all of our prayers...so he basically told us to quit it. He was funny like that and will be missed for this good humor and his deep spirit.

I just love these pictures of my little guy playing warrior. Little Aaron loves to wear this helmet around the house constantly. So cute.

I feel WORSE today. I woke up with a severe sinus headache and congestion and I can't stop blowin my nose. Ughhh. Sometimes having little ones afoot makes for super nasty colds. Have a better day than me.

That is so true! I was trying to create a floral background with my hero arts flower stamps. Umm I missed the mark a little I think but it's still pretty enough for me to give it to a friend. I also used my Technique Tuesday Swiss Dots stamp with Basic Gray ink on grey cardstock behind the sentiment. Regal Rose for the flowers and I just used my blender pen to pull the colors out a bit. The ppr is from the DCWV spring stack.

I still have a slight cough but am feeling better this morning. Remember to count your blessings I know I need to. Have a great day.

Zoofari anyone

I received this card in the mail a while ago and am now just getting around to posting it. MJAlbright made a bunch of these and sent them to whoever posted a comment on her blog. I believe it's 4x4 and it's gatefold. Made with Stampin' Up's Zoofari set. I love how she colored the images and popped up some of their heads. The smallest piece of artwork...I love it.

This week is shaping up to be totally crazy. I came down with this weird cough yesterday. I feel like someone is steppin on my chest. The odd thing is that I was fine in the morning, but by 5 o'clock I was done for.

Thanks for all the support on potty training. My other two were EASY, two years old, BAM, potty trained...not my little guy though.

I've really gotta run, today is Tessa's first day back to preschool since getting sick, but I'd like to post something for your viewing pleasure.

I almost wasn't going to post this card because, well, it's not one of my favorites, but I still like it. I made this card to send to my dh's grandma with pictures of a visit we made to her. The stamps are technque tuesday. I believe that that's Regal Rose ink on the edges.

Birthday Boy Extras

Juno

I keep forgetting to tell y'all. Go see this movie! If you want to pee your pants from laughing and cry from the tenderness all at the same time. So well acted! But I do have to say that at times I found it hard to watch because I'm not used to the horrible way teenagers talk... I guess I'm an old foagie now. I really enjoyed all the complexities of the characters, like you feel one way and then by the end you're totally on the other end of the spectrum on that. Have a great day!

It's so weird how every time I upload an image to my blog it's darker than it was in Photoshop. I wanted this to be a super special lo. This picture of my children tugs at my heartstrings.

I'm thinking about remaking the little name block so that their names are more bold... but overall I'm in love with this layout!

I used chalk ink and the back of this sheet of paper as a mask to create the block around the photo. That's K&Co paper ribbon across the bottom of the pic. The ruffled ribbon is more magenta IRL and matches perfectly. Added a CK rhinestone flower brad to attach the ribbon. I made my own rub-on with a transparency for the "Moment" part of my title and wrote in the rest with a zig writer. I borrowed this title from a lo my friend Tara made. The heart brad is paper studio. Finally the paper is Creative Imaginations.

My Baby's Birthday

Today is my oldest son, Jakob's, birthday. He's turning seven, hard to believe that, it just goes by so quickly. He's a HUGE seven year old too...the doc says he's the size of an average ten year old and that he'll probably surpass my measley 5'6" when he's eleven or twelve. YIKES! So here's the cutest card ever that I made for my baby! I love him so much, he really is such a help around here, already taking on manly tasks with daddy. Too fast I tell you.

I used Beate's WSC #31.

Robot and star images from SU Toy Box. "Celebrate" from Studio G. The seven stamp is from Nostalgiques. I colored the image with prismas and OT. I wrapped wire around the stip to hold the "7" on.

Here are two layouts about my baby boy. One really old one that I made when he was still just a wee one and one I made Thursday. I used my Creative Memories Circle Cutter for all the circles on the new lo. The brackets are Technique Tuesday. "My buddy" is Sassafras Lass and "Thor" is art warehouse.

BTW I hand lettered the title on the old lo...so thankful for stamps. Have a great day. We're off to Chucky Cheese's.

Having Fun Friend Card

I wanted to do something TOTALLY different and outside my comfort zone on this card. I CuttleBugged a transparency then added alchohol inks in Lettuce and Stream. I liked the bold circles and chose not to blend it too much. Then I added the "frame" of paper on top. Underneath is a "frame" of thin cardboard I used to make a shaker box out of this card. I cut a wavy slit in the front and added differnt kinds of beads inside. Lastly I made the little bookmark with the dolphin from the SU Silly Sealife set. The friends sentiment is a Studio G stamp. I painted in the waves and added glitter on the edges. The dolphin has stickles as well. The little rhinestones are from K&Co.

I was trying to do this for the SCS's sketch challenge #159. A little off the beaten path I guess. Oh, I did want to show you one more thing...the flowers my dh brought home to me last night. They're beautiful. He knows I don't really like roses because they die so fast so there are gerbera daisys and lillies in here and of course, my favorite color orange!

Today is a better DAY!

It's my birthday and I got about seven hours of sleep last night! YEY! My amazing friend Michelle did the sweetest thing yesterday as a present to me. She brought my family and I dinner so I wouldn't have to worry about it. Shrimp primavera, salad, pineapple, baklava! It was all so yummy. Thanks, it really made my day, because instead of making dinner I was able to clean up my kitchen and dining room which sorely needed it. She also brought me this beautiful wall hanging. I love it! Plus, look at this gorgeous card she made for me. I'm thinking of doing my bedroom with these colors.

On another happy note, I got goodies from Beate in the mail. May Arts ribbons, a sheet of stickers and this adorable hippo card she made. Thanks Beate! Thanks ladies, you made my day!

My Day Yesterday.

Was long and tiring and beautiful all at the same time. My poor little girl has been coughing so badly it's keeping her up at nights and that mean mom and dad have been up too. The doc prescribed a heavy duty cough supressant and last night was better but she woke up this morning still coughing. She didn't wake up in the middle of the night though and that's a plus.

That's right, you guessed it I'm tired and therefore have nothing to show for myself. I was thinking I might do a wacky Wednesday where I show you a really horrible card I can't believe I made. Would you like that? Of course you would so here goes. Yup, it's pretty bad. That orange chalk ink looks horrid and although the flowers might be cute those um "grass" blades are parts of a silk flower bouquet that I added glitter too. Yeah, I know, It's BAD. So look away and hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Monkey Mojo

I used Julee Tilmans Mojo Monday Sketch #20 to complete this card! I made this card for my boss to thank her for an unexpected and well received Christmas bonus.

On another note I really wanted to give my great friend, Beth, props because the amazing and super talented Ali Edwards ordered one of the paper wreaths she makes and even scrapbooked about it in her 25 days of Christmas album (click on "Ali" link to view her album). Favorite Organization

I'm sorry I don't remember whose blog I pulled this pic from (it was months ago) if anyone knows let me know so I can give credit where credit is due. This is probably one of my favorite of all time storage tips! My punches are arranged just like this, except mine aren't all SU, a girl can dream though.

So, if you have the wall space and want to get those punches out of those drawers then this is the solution! Have fun!

Stinkin' Cute Valentine

Hi all! Here's a little something I've entered in Sue Daly's Valentine's Day Card Contest. I thought one looks like a boy skunk and one like a girl so they idea sprung from there.

I stamped them in basic black, cut them out and popped them up (hard to tell in pic). The "I just love you" sentiment is from SU's Double Line Doodle Set. I added a small prima with a stickles center to the gal. The polka dot paper is SEI and the heart corner punch is EK success. The pink ink is Colorbox Rouge chalk ink.

I've got to go get my blood drawn yet again today. It's so lovely to have a hyperactive thyroid...and then an hypoactive one...and then a hyper one and so on and so forth. I just wish my body would figure out what it wants to do and be done with it. I'm down to just one PTU pill a day and I seem to be doing well with that. Will keep you posted on what the doc says next Monday when he reviews the work.

Okay this is for Julee Tilman's Mojo Monday Sketch #19. She really challenged me this week. I've been needing a ton of thank you cards recently so I used this sketch to make another one.

I had SUCH a hard time with the embossing powder. It wanted to stick to the whole piece of chipboard and not just the versamarked blossoms. I tried twice "drying" and wiping the chipboard in between tries but this is as good as it gets. I think it looks kinda vintage.

I beaded a pin and added it to the ribbon on the bottom. Looks amazing IRL.

Retro Bloom Baby

So I was about to say that there was no stamping on this card and then I realized that the border is stamped! I used my lovely new scalloped circle punch and some BG paper. Some funky buttons and brads.

I also used the finishing washers my dh brought home to me. He said, "Here, you could probably use these with your stuff," and plunked them down on my craft table (very lovingly and comically at the same time). Well, honey, I sure can and I love them. You just place a brad in the middle of one and secure it like you normally would but it gives it a totally different look! I'm starting to wonder if they come in colors other than silver.

Little One

A simple little card for any new addition. These images are from the Autumn Leaves Mindy's Zoo set. I didn't want to make the colors too traditional. Cute, huh? Same old, same old, prismas and OT. This is random...

Remembering my grandpa. This is a picture of him with my Aunt Nancy. Both my grandparents died so young. They weren't able to see any of their grandchildren married. I miss them. I need more pictures of them to scrapbook.
