Grandma Series #2

I finished the second layout in my "Grandma Series" last week and I'm finally getting around to posting it. This is my mama with Tessa right before she moved to Pennsylvania. I miss her so much and I'm grateful for all that she taught me. She was an amazing role model of self reliance. I want my kids to cherish her like I do.
Hope everyone is having a great day. I'm watching the biggest loser and being inspired to do more this week!

Weigh In Monday: Week 4

Sayin bye bye to this big girl: right after baby #2.
I had a pretty decent week. I feel like I'm eating normally but just in smaller portions because I get SO full if I try to indulge. I even found myself in physical pain one evening just from eating a smallish baked potato and a cup of homemade veggie soup. I could not believe it! Because of this I'm really trying to eat more slowly and take time for the food to hit my tummy. So, here goes...weigh in this morning was GOOD.

I am down another 3 lbs.!!!!! I am really stoked about that. I wish that I had hit the 10 lb. weight loss by now but that WILL happen this week but for now I am satisfied with a 9 lb. weight loss in three weeks. It's amazing what cutting out the sweets and paying attention to my food intake will do. Have a super day and I do have things to post that I've been creating I just haven't taken pictures.

Why I only lost a little over two pounds last week...
This is a cake made with Splenda and applesauce...Travis decided to spruce it up with the chocolate sauce though...to "make it presentable". It was yummy. Go here for the recipe Chocolate Bundt Cake with fluffy icing
Hope you're all doing great. I got a great frying pan and a BUNCH of Victoria's Secret lotions and potions. Now I smell great when I'm cooking.

Weigh in Monday:Week 3 begins

So, I didn't lose as much as I wanted. In fact I weighed a pound less last Thursday than I do today because of my awesome birthday and eating some yummy cake.
I'm down another 2.2 pounds from last week. It is still a down and not an up and for that I'm thankful. That means in two weeks I've lost a total of 6 lbs. and that's nothing to frown about. I'm going to try super hard this week to be good and to get some good work outs in. I know that's the key to shedding the big pounds. I've been using MyFitnessPal.com to track my calories and work outs.
I can definitely tell a differance in my body when I eat well and don't over eat. I feel fit and ready to take on the world. Wish me luck in the coming week and have a great day!
Here's a pic of me when I was at my thinnest in recent years. To get here I'll have to lose another 7lbs, but I won't be done yet!!!

Butterfly fly away...

My friend, Erin, just had a birthday Thursday. We're getting together tonight to celebrate her birthday and mine at a friend's house. We'll be doing some waxing and painting of nails. Spa night. Amber is going to make her world famous chocolate bundt cake...there goes my weight loss. Why did my birthday have to come in the dreaded week 2? Oh well, I'll work harder next week. Have a great day!

Need a little color in your life right now?! I love the color orange! It reminds me of spring, which I wish would come soon because I'm tired of the cold. I have a super busy day ahead of me and I hope I can keep up. Have a great day.

Weigh in Monday Week 2

Here's my little drooler having some workout time with mommy.

So I was pretty good all week last week, sure at the beginning of the week I had a few bites of cookie dough cuz it was there...staring at me in the fridge and one day I broke down and ate a whole bag of M&M's BUT that is a major improvement over my intake of sweets in the past. I mean my family had ice cream for dessert last night and I sat there and wrote in my journal. I later at some pomegranate seeds as my sweet. SOOOO drumroll please...I am down 3.8 pounds since last Monday!!!!! I feel great, plus I am getting over this lingering sickness I've had for over a month now. Hope your Monday is starting off as great as mine!Grilled Honey Mustard Glazed Chicken over a yummy salad with homemade salad dressing and a side of Red Quinoa! YUMMEH!

The Bathroom Blog

First, a little history...when we came to look at this house and I walked into this bathroom (which had carpet) I fell in love with this tub. I dreamt of all the wonderful baths I'd take in it and I just had to have it. Now I call it the BIG waste of space. It is the most uncomfortable tub I've ever been in not to mention the fact that it takes the entire contents of our water heater to fill it 2/3 full and then all you get is cold... Honestly I haven't taken a bath since I was pregnant with Aaron and he'll be five in March. So sad, right. We are thinking of doing a little remodel, tearing this tub out and putting in a shower/tub combo. We'd then rip out the shower stall and make it into a linen closet. I really like that idea. It may take YEARS to get it done though.
So here's the tiny shower stall I use because of the big, bad bathtub. It's a work out shaving my legs in here!

Messy counter with paint tray.

My little thrift store quails. When I bought them I thought, why did you buy these, and now I love them.
These picture are a testament to the last 12 hours of my life. I started early this morning and a now DONE painting this bathroom. The bathroom itself still needs a little work...like a new curtain for the window. When the paint was much lighter in here it just used to blend in now you can see the dark edges and it looks horrible. Soooo I'll be doing a little shopping. I'd also like a big orange vase for my counter top. I have some frames that I'll be paintin in various shades or my fav color and hanging on the wall by the tub.

Travis' job of putting up bead board instead of tile on the tub surround will be finished...who knows when! But I'll post pictures when it's done. I'll try to get daylight pics too as the yellow flourescent light is abomindable. Have a great day.

New Year=New Do's

Jakob, he likes it high and tight. Hair lingo ya know. Keeping up on his hair is a chore in itself.
He sayin' , "See how suave I look now mom."

Aaron the wildman. His hair was so long I could put it in a tiny ponytail in back. He didn't want to cut it but he was super happy with the end result though.
Can't you tell? Well he really is.
Then there's this little fuzz head. Travis just used the clippers on him all the way around. He just gets a clean up.
Awwwww. Look at the drool. Funny little side note. Jonah is the only child I have that we comb his hair from right to left because of his cowlick. Everyone else combs from left to right.
I even cut Tessa's hair but I think I'll be taking her to see my hairstylist FIRST before I post a pic...not so good.

Card/Earring Set

I made this card and earring set for a dear friend who was recently baptized. I love the soft color combo and I think the earrings will go wonderfully with her red hair. Have a great day.

Perfection

I just can't help but feel lighthearted when I see this face.
We had a great Christmas! The first that Jonah actually opened presents.
Travis enjoyed opening presents in his new In-N-Out shirt.
Jonah couldn't get enough banana crackers (stocking stuffer). Tessa got a handmade coat and hat from Gramy. I got a handmade wooden utensil holder from Grampy. Jakob got a handmade wooden top from Grampy this year. So cool. I need pics of those, I only have video. Have a great day!

Punch Wreath

I used one of my corner punches to make this fun little wreath. The card is 5.5x5.5 inches to give you an idea of the wreath size. Hope you all are having a great day. I already went to see my little ones sing at their school Christmas program. It was sweet...too bad they didn't sing "All I Want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth" for Tessa.

For my coworkers

I had fun making these little trinkets for my coworkers. The best part about them is how the display cards came out. I love how it perfectly frames each pair of earrings. Kraft cardstock, stamp from Technique Tuesday and Basic Black ink. I love giving something personal like this even though it takes a little more time. Have a great day.

Tuesday, December 15, 2009

Oooh I had fun with this one. I ran a tranparency through my cuttlebug and then used my alcohol inks on the back of it to give it a pop of color. I have a ton of work to do but I hope you're all having a wonderful day!

My li'l jack o lantern

I knew it would happen, but this has been kind of ridiculous. She's lost four teeth within a one month period. She makes me smile every time I see her grin. Then she starts to giggle and we're in fits.

She can be super silly like her daddy too. I love it! Have a great day.

Another one bites the dust

Last night while eating a rolled taco...Tessa lost yet ANOTHER tooth. That other front one is sure to go soon too. She cracks me up when she talks and smiles. I love my baby girl. Have a great day.

Rudolf the sparlke nosed reindeer.

Just a really simple little Christmas card. I colored in the nose with red and then added red stickles glitter. The snowflakes were stamped in River Rock ink. Hope you're having a holly jolly time!
