Trav turns another year older!

I made this wonderful, chocolate, macaroon bundt cake.
Not enough candles but they'll have to do!
Yummy coconut filling.
Tessa made him this very sweet key chain with the beading kit she got for her birthday.

I found this card for him. The inside says, "It's amazing you found a BETTER half in me".
My guy loves science fiction and I was happy to find this hardbound edition of Empire by Orson Scott Card. He also got a vise and a chocolate tool set from Buffet's Candies.
Have a great weekend!

Mellow Yellow

A little vintage, a little fun, and definitely a lot of yellow. This headband is definitely a smile maker. I had this large button with a gold streak through it and I found this gingham ribbon at a local thriftstore...how cool is mustard yellow gingham...and for .50 cents I couldn't pass it up. The rusty gold felt was my grandmothers and I've been holding on to it for some time. All in all I think I love it...now what to wear with it?!?!?!? Have a wonderful day!

Just add a little color.

and you'll feel happier. Made this card for a dear friend of mine who has cancer. She has always been so kind to my family...made Tessa the sweetest dresses to wear during the holidays when she was just a wee one. I hope she recovers fully and I can see her again soon. Have a sweet day.

Is it really spring?

Well, at least some of my flowers are blooming. It was really chilly again on Friday...so overcast and rainy. I'm grateful to see the signs of spring though.
These yellow irises are some of my favorites especially because I discovered their rhizomes underneath the porch and I've nurtured them along (the porch has since been removed). California poppies come back every year and their orange color make me happy every time I walk by them. I'm trying to figure out what the new purple addition is this year. Any ideas? They're all over my "yard" acreage, but they look lovely mixed in with the poppies. Have a beautiful day.
Ahhhhh what a botanist I am I picked a teeny purple flower and by looking through desert wildflowers I have the answer. It's called Filaree Storksbill!!!!

It's overcast today... and I need zucchini

So what should I be doing...cleaning up my back room....what AM I doing...having fun with the boys and taking picutures of their cuteness. Jonah was being such a ham.
This is him saying "cheeeeeeeeese".
I can't believe I actually caught this expression on camera. He had his hands at hips and everything. Look at that little eyebrow. If this doesn't make you smile or even giggle a litttle...havin' a much better day today. you have one too!
Off to the store to get some zucchini so I can make minestrone for dinner.

My Mama's Birthday!

My mom's birthday was yesterday and I wanted to make her an exta fun card. I think she'll like it's funky spunkyness. She has always been a lover of trees and RAIN. That is truly one of the reasons she moved back East to Pennsylvania from Arizona. We grew up in Illinois and Michigan (at times) and it rained so much. I love the green and I really miss it...I'm sure I don't miss the humidity though. Take care.

Another birthday has come and gone my friend

I do so love my friend Michy. She just celebrated like, her 21st birthday or something. She looks great and could really be that young! I made her this inspired necklace and earring set. I hope she enjoys them. Sending love to Florida.
Have a great DAY!

Just a simple print for a beautiful woman. Hope y'all are enjoying the beautiful weather today!

Mother's Day: Dragonfly

My mom loves dragonflies. I know this card is simple but it's what's inside that counts, right?!!? I love my mama so much and I can't wait to see her again...I so wish she hadn't moved to Pennsylvania.

Loma Linda

I made this set of earrings and necklace for my friend's birthday. I love these rose beads with the medallion. I hope she likes them. I'm taking her to lunch today and I'd better go workout hard so I can enjoy the food! Have a great day.

What Time Is It?

It's not hammer time...this week. I made another beaded watch band and I love how it turned out. If you haven't tried making one of these you really should. They're quite easy and there's a great tutorial vid online by scarlet lime. Have a great day...time flies!

Grandma: last installment

Here's the last page of my Grandma Series: I did one lo each for the kids and their grandma Holly. I love the way they turned out. Have a great weekend!

Head Bands for Her

I also can't stop making headbands for my little girl and... for me. I love wearing them too. This one is a combo of fabric, felt and pearls. I used pinking shears for the edges of the felt to give it a petal like look. What crafty somethings have you had up your sleeve?

Spanish Princess Necklace

I love the medallion and the champagne pearls. Not to mention the rose beads and the teal stone beads. I think it works so wonderfully together. Who says you have to pay a fortune for cute jewelry. Click on the pic for a closer look. Have a great day.

Cloud Earrings

I had seen these silver earrings with bead raindrops and I wanted to make something similar with paper. I love how whimsical they are and as I made them for a friend I can't wait to make myself a pair. If you make some too please link back here and show me. I'm also planning on making a companion necklace.

Earring Frame w/ Burlap

I made this frame in less than 20 minutes and for less than 2 bucks! I got the frame and the burlap at the thriftstore. The spray paint I already had. I'm lovin' not having to did through my drawer to find my earring matches.
