Framed Burlap Earring Display

Good morning blogland. Thought I'd share a non paper project with you this a.m.! I made this framed display for my earrings. It hangs in my closet. I love having all of them out the int open so I don't have to dig through a drawer to find matches.

There's my little grouping of earrings without their mates...I know they're hoping one day to be reunited with their long lost friend. :)
It's super easy to make. Just paint up a frame, stretch some burlap across the back and staple it to the back of the frame.
I also stapled a piece of  ribbon on the back of each top corner and tied a bow in the middle to hang it by.
Hope you have a super day.

Bird's Nest Beaded Wire Necklace

I love these colors!

I wanted to make something really special for my friend for her birthday. I saw a pin on pinterest of these wire bird's nest necklaces and thought they were so pretty.  I chose different beads to represent her family members (I told her she was the blue bead and she said she liked that she was the biggest one and then I said that's because she's the boss ;)). Then I got to work building the nest. The pin is connected to a tutorial. You can find it here, Sarah Ortega's tut is so easy to follow!

Here's Tess modeling the finished necklace. She wants one of her very own. I think I can handle that request. Hope you enjoyed

Authentique Necklace

I woke up yesterday morning and I wanted to wear THESE SHOES to church. I scored them at Marshall's on our tax free weekend on CLEARANCE. I wanted my outfit to be hip and funky....afterall...I was teaching a class of 7-8 year olds for my first time. :)

I've had these plastic rings for ages I bought 10 (I know have a plan BEFORE you buy). I punched a hole at the top with my Crop-A-Dile. I then adhered the circle to my paper and cut it out with an xacto.

Next I grabbed a needle and thread and my Peapod twine. I poked evenly spaced holes and began to wrap the ring with twine. I would have liked the twine closer but that would have "cut" the paper out of the center. I then added Diamond Glaze to the center and little dabs around the outter rim to keep the twine in place.

Here's a shot of the back. Either way it's prety cool.

Hope your Monday is blessed.

I dream of Coral & Pearls

As a child/growing up I loved and adored the color peach. I painted the wall in my room in a peach checker board in high school. Hope the landlord painted over it okay :). As I've matured, notice I didn't say "gotten older" I have come to love peache's more refined cousin...CORAL. I just want to wear it all the time. It's a yummy dream. So I sat down the other night and got to work making this necklace. She's a beauty, no? I made a set of matching earrings and a bracelet too. Pics later. Take care and have a great day.

Mellow Yellow

A little vintage, a little fun, and definitely a lot of yellow. This headband is definitely a smile maker. I had this large button with a gold streak through it and I found this gingham ribbon at a local thriftstore...how cool is mustard yellow gingham...and for .50 cents I couldn't pass it up. The rusty gold felt was my grandmothers and I've been holding on to it for some time. All in all I think I love it...now what to wear with it?!?!?!? Have a wonderful day!

Loma Linda

I made this set of earrings and necklace for my friend's birthday. I love these rose beads with the medallion. I hope she likes them. I'm taking her to lunch today and I'd better go workout hard so I can enjoy the food! Have a great day.

My Carnival Watch

As promised here's a pic of my carnival watch with the face attached. I LOVE the way this watch looks and the way it makes me feel so happy when I wear it. Looks almost good enough to eat! Enjoy---the snow...well, that's what we have today! SNOW on APRIL 30th 2010! UGH!

What Time Is It?

It's not hammer time...this week. I made another beaded watch band and I love how it turned out. If you haven't tried making one of these you really should. They're quite easy and there's a great tutorial vid online by scarlet lime. Have a great day...time flies!

Spanish Princess Necklace

I love the medallion and the champagne pearls. Not to mention the rose beads and the teal stone beads. I think it works so wonderfully together. Who says you have to pay a fortune for cute jewelry. Click on the pic for a closer look. Have a great day.

Cloud Earrings

I had seen these silver earrings with bead raindrops and I wanted to make something similar with paper. I love how whimsical they are and as I made them for a friend I can't wait to make myself a pair. If you make some too please link back here and show me. I'm also planning on making a companion necklace.

Wrap it up!

Making jewelry is fun to do, fun to do, to do to do to do. I wanted to make an off center necklace and I wanted a wrap bracelet. The one I saw in FL was like 15 bucks but I knew that making one myself was a possibility. I just randomly beaded some wire and then looped it into a flower shape and attached it to the necklace. Hope y'all are having a great day...more mud here. ugh.
