I accidentally posted this here instead of my Li'l Buck's Boutique Bands page and almost deleted it but then I thougt...leave it here this IS what's comsuming my life right now. Having a blast creating hair ware for others!!!You know, it's fun creating in "miniature". It really makes me focus in on the few elements I can use to really make the clip balanced and as special as any hair band would be. I really love the flat alligator clip I've been using. It holds fast in Ms. Tess's hair and there's hardly any slippage, she comes home from school with her clip still IN her hair and that's an accomplishment. Hope you're all having a great day!

Disguising Turkeys 101

Aaron's teacher sent home the funnest family project the other day. We were given a turkey cut out (which I traced so that we'd have two turkeys) and told to Disguise Tom Turkey so he wouldn't be caught for Thanksgiving! Aaron took some time thinking about what he wanted his turkey's disguise to be...green power ranger, turtle, batman, and then he got settled on a dragon. Tessa picked the theme of the other turkey and we were surprised to see a turkey turn into a mermaid. I helped the boys with the dragon and Travis helped Tessa with her mermaid. The kids had a blast for FHE and we got some creative juices flowing again. I love getting my hands dirty with paper and glue...SO FUN! Try it with your family...I'd love to see what disguises your turkeys end up with! Have a great day.

These colors just compliment eachother so well. I was contacted by Ms. Abbey about making a set of coordinating bands for her and her daughter to wear in an upcoming family photo shoot. Her amazingly, talented momma already sewed dresses for the two of them and she wanted bands that would be complimnetary and not too matchy, matchy. I'm so thrilled with the way this band came together. The coral, sage, grey and even hints of pink are timeless and beautiful. Stay tuned for a post on her daughter, little Ms. K's, band. Jonah turns 2...again...kinda...sorta

So, you may have heard that somehow all of Jonah's pictures from his second birthday were deleted. I was devestated. I just found out earlier this week and, yes, it's been a month since he turned two but we had ourselves a little re-birthday for my baby. I can't have him being my only child without pictures for his b-day. I know that may seem a little extreme but I felt so bad and every one had fun and got to enjoy cake and ice-cream again. I'm debating on wether or not I'll tell him whe he gets older. I want my kiddos to know that they are the most important things to me...my family. PLUS we were so busy last birthday he had a store bought cake and this time around I got to make one special for him.


Even found the original bag and toy from Gramy and Grampy...I amaze myself. Have a super day!

A Drawing we will go...

So, I purchased this awesome book the other day at Jo-anns called 52 creative exercises to make drawing fun: Drawing Lab for mixed media arts.

Lab 1: Draw 30 cats while sitting in bed with your paper on a pillow or the bed. I started of very rough and then found things I liked and went with them. The kiddos are joining me in this endeavor. Should REALLY be fun. Today we'll be taking a few of our favorites and rendering them in various ways.I still think drawing cats is pretty hard.

Tessa and I had a day hangin' at the mall...yeah, she's only 7...and she loves the mall...wanna know why?!?!? So did I, so I asked her and she told me that she likes going to the mall because, "there's a candy store in it and a pet store where you can see kitties." Awesome, I love it.

Oh my goodness? Could I love this munchkin anymore. Dear Jenny took Jonah to the library and he created this beautiful leaf art.

The kid just won't stop growing. At 9 years old he is close to 5' 5"...one more inch and he's as tall a me!!!!

When Tessa was a Princess

When we went to Disney last time we splurged and Tessa got to go to Libby Lu's. She wanted to be a princess so badly. There were probably a million bobbie pins in her hair and that crown is real metal and heavy but she loved every minute! So worth it for the memories it gave us. Have a great day.

Am I Enough?

This photo of me has been kicking around for some time and I thought I might do a reflective layout with it. It was very therapeautic.

Am I good enough to stand in His presence if He were to return now? I don't know if I am...but I want to be.

Another Matey

Pom Pom Pink

Had fun trying a new technique with the felt. I have another one up my sleave too that I'm itching to try. This one was sure bright and perky and reminds me of a cheerleader in some ways. hahaha.

So very vanilla

Vanilla is said to be bland...blah...boring...BUT NOT THIS HAIR BAND BABY! She's va-va-va-voom! Really priceless in the vintage, girly flavor you get here. I have one more of these...on special order...not a band though...just the piece to attach to a barrett because the woman who ordered it wears glasses. How smart is that?!?!?? Have a great day.

Teeny Baby Photo Shoot

This little girl seems so small to me...all of my babes were over 8 lbs. It was fun to get out there and shoot some photos again.
I'm not sure on which one to use as an announcement...Ultimately it's not up to me but they're all so cute!So stinkin' sweet. She was only asleep for like five minutes so I was happy to get this shot.

Whenever I create ANYTHING my space turns into a disaster zone. I'm slowly but surely getting back to this. But I've been so happy scrappin' and making hair bands I can't complain too much. Watched General Conference today and feel so uplifted. Hope you're all doing well. Have a great evening.

Going Gray

One of the special orders I had was for a gray and black band...I've really been wanting to do an all black one but now I'm stoked to make a gray and black one for myself. SO DELICIOIUS!. Let me tell you how this warms me up inside...that gray is so yummy. My daughter tried to steal it. I hope Mrs. NY#1 loves it too! Thanks for stopping by for a little eye candy and have a great day!
