Thrifty Thursday: Decor Day

I've found some pretty sweet things at my Edgewood Salvation Army lately!!! Any tips on how to get that nasty wax out of the hurricane???

Snowflake: 50 cents
Frame: free because of cracked glass (thanks sweet J girl)
Hurricane: originally 30 dollars from price tag on bottom 50 cents. I can't wait to decorate for Christmas with these things. Let me know what thrifty things you've scored lately!!!
Have a great day.

I will have to post some pictures of what I found last weekend. Not as good of prices though
I did find brand new platic drawers for scrapbooking storage for $1.25!

Try putting the hurricane in the freezer for a little while. It hardens the wax even more and sometimes it will just pop out.

I was going to suggest the freezer thing as well. I bet it will pop right out after you freeze it for about 10 minutes. You may have to break it up with a butter knife or something though to get it through the opening since the opening is smaller than the base. Good luck. Can't wait to see what you do with them.

Put the hurricane into ice water - the wax really will just pop out.
