Hello There, Handsome My Mind's Eye

I made this layout for the Scrapbook Steals Amethyst #10 sketch.
The randomly drawn prize for this set of 10 sketches is worth over $200.00!!!!
I know this layout needs a little something extra so I'll be working on that.
I used a bunch of My Mind's Eye Dilly Dally Papers and some American Crafts

Have a great day!

My mama, MY HERO, my heart

I made this layout to honor my mom. She has been my rock. She raised my brother and I on her own (my grandma and grandpa were big helps back when we were younger). She was a waitress for as long as I remember. When we moved to New Mexico and I was in high school she started taking classes at the local college branch. She earned her associates in accounting while working at a factory that built futon frames and other pine furniture. She never shied away from hard work and taught us to pray always. She has been  abused and faced so many trials through her life but she has remained a rock for me.

My mom married when I was in college. Soon after I had my first born she and my step dad adopted an 11 year old boy in Arizona. I now have two brothers to call family :). Recently my stepdad passed away and my mom has been dealing with some major health struggles of her own. I hope when she sees this layout it reminds her of how far she's come and how amazing she's done.

I just want my mom to know that I know I'm the best person I can be because of the lessons she taught me. As we celebrate the Ressurection of our Savior I hope that we can all feel a rebirth of our own goodness and kindness and do our very best for those around us.

Have a blessed Easter and enjoy your family.

Super Sonic Drive In

Amethyst #5 sketch from Scrapbook Steals
We live in a small town about 25 minutes outside of a big city. Basically, our "town" consisted of a feed and supply store, a McDonald's (ugh), a Dairy Queen, a Smith's grocery store and a Walgreen's until they put a Walmart in a couple of years ago.
But now we're moving on up to the big leagues baby.
We are now driving through our very own SONIC! I don't drink much soda any more but once in a while I crave a cranberry or cherry limeade. I love their real fruit slushes too(a gazillion calories I'm sure). They used to have this drink called an "orange cool breeze" that was sprite with crushed pineapple and orange flavoring. It was awesome. I did try their "Chicago Dog" when I had a coupon and was pleasantly surprised!
You would not believe the lines that this place had the first month or so. Forget it! I'll only wait so long for a cherry limeade ;) I used some of my Shimmerz spritz over letter stickers to get the title. I did "Sonic" first and then "Super". While the letter stickers were in place I used the bullet tip of my red Zig marker to give it a splash look.  The cherry stamp is from the Sweet Stamp shop and I colored that with my Zigs too.
I used lots of different lines of paper on this layout. The car paper is from WRMK, the yellow number: Simple Stories, red and teal: DCWV, polka dot: The Paper Studio
I used my fiskars cloud punches as masks and then overlaid a wood grain cloud that I stamped with my Hero Arts set
Ruffled scallops made with my scalloped scissors. Best $2 ever spend 6 years ago ;) Have a super day and I hope you get yourself an ice cold beverage and some scrappy time.

Always Stay Young At Heart: Ribbon and Washi tape flowers

I used Scrapbook Steals Amethyst #4 sketch by Kristy Lee for the basis of this layout. My daughter has a special friendship with this little girl. She's now growing her hair out so she and Caelan can match ;). They truly have such a wonderful time together.

Crate paper floral background. May Arts mustard grossgrain ribbon, and hand made washi tape flowers.

I used my Groovy Guava ink from SU to tint these pink Thickers a bit more coral.

Stamp on the tag using the Elements of Style stamp set in Wild Wasabi ink.

And thanks to my enabling friend, Erica, I have some new washi tape in my collection. I need to add the date to the journaling block but I can't, for the life of me, find my date stamp!!
Have a great week.

Adorkable:

Yes, we think we're all that...NOT! Jenn came over to take me out for my birthday and said we should take pictures like all the young girls do. Fish lips, pouty lips, cheeks sucked in. You know you've seen it before ;) So we're being tongue and cheek...literally!!

This layout was based on Scrapbook Steals Amethysty #3 Sketch by Melissa D. I strayed a bit but love it.
I thought the hangers would be cute because I was hangin' with my bestie.

American Crafts paper was perfect for the brightly colored clothes we were sporting.
The journaling will go in the pocket that says "a slice of the good life"

I pulled this title from a onsie I saw at my friend, Heidi's baby shower.

Do any of you ever have MAJOR issues with blogger letting you put things were YOU want to in a blog post? UGH! This is all over the place.
Have a sweet day.

S.I.P. Project with Genuine

I just love the idea of the S.I.P Project. To learn more about it please visit DeAnn's blog. The basic idea is that you give service and in return DeAnn does your family photos for free. I chose to make cards that I could help the gals at the local elder care facility put together. I have one more day to meet with them and my almost 9 hours of service will be complete and we will have made 90 cards or so.

I'm sure that I'll go back to visit with them and help them with more card projects in the future

I love that Authentique's Genuine collection goes perfectly with our family's photos. Honestly the denims are beautiful with the yellow.

I lost the "i" while out scrapping a LSS yesterday and finally gave up and made another one. Wouldn't you know that I'd find the original stuck to the bottom of a sticker sheet RIGHT AFTER I'd made the new one. :)

I hope the SIP Project as well as my layout inspires you. Have a great Sabbath Day!!!
This is also based off of Kristy Lee's Amethyst #2 Sketch for Scrapbook Steals.

Little Man with a big plan: Amethyst #1

I had a bunch of these adorable pictures of Jonah building his lego/duplo trains. It's one of his favorite pastimes.

I used Scrapbook Steals Amethyst #1 sketch by Kristy Lee as my starting point. Such a great sketch for a bunch of little pics.

Faux legos are easy and fun to make.

This paper is perfect for my boy pages. To the Moon!
Have a super duper day!
