My Little Army Guy

This is my take on Scrapbook Steals Midweek Mojo Lily #3 sketch. I had a really hard time with the colors on his costume and picking papers that would go with it. Yeesh.

Lilac #10 Scrapbook Steals Layout

My family fished every summer growing up.
I remember it with great fondness. This summer
my children got to experience a small part of
my youth for themselves when
my Aunt and Uncle
took us into their home for a week
and treated us to
a much needed vacation.

I loved being back to my roots.

El Vado Lake Scrapbook Steals Lilac #3

Here is the layout I did for Scrapbook Steals Lilac #3 sketch. There are many sketches to choose from this week. I used the second one.

We had our Stake Girl's Camp up at El Vado Lake and it was truly beautiful. We got to wake up beside this vista every morning and the weather was wonderful as well.

I definitely want to go back with my family.

I haven't scrapbooked in such a darn long time. Life really took hold and drug me by the hair for a while. I loved having a sketch to go from. Scrapbook Steals Lilac #1

This was such a beautiful area to visit.

I used a lot of different papers from different lines. We R Travel Light was a main one though.

Scrapbook Steals Daffodil 1 Sketch

I used the Scrapbook Steals Daffodil #1 Sketch for this layout. I'm still going to add some journaling strips to the upper left of the layout but I want to take my time on that as we near the anniversary of Isaiah's birth. The hospital has boxes that are painted by local artists and donated to hold remains or personal effects of those we lose.
Travis built the other box for Isaiah to be laid to rest in. I painted it and added his name.

Having to be induced to have my baby at 16 weeks along was one of the hardest things I've ever been through. I know others that have had many losses and my heart hurts for them. I gain strength through my knowledge of our Heavenly Father's plan for us.

Make it meaningful. I

14th Birthday SS Petunia 9 Layout

J has turned into a total teenager and it happened overnight, it seems.
I used the Petunia 9 sketch from ScrapbookSteals.com
I think I'll create a companion page so I can add a few more pictures and the journaling.

I created the title for the page with my Silhouette Cameo. I just merged the words together and cut.

This was a fun one. Hope you're week is starting off just peachy.

Families Are Forever Scrapbook Steals Daisy #2

I haven't done a Mid Week Mojo in what feels like forever.
This is taken from their Daisy #2 Sketch
However, I had a visit from a dear friend last week who so lovingly showed me the scrapbook that she made for her daughter who lives in heaven now and it made me realize that I really need to do something for Isaiah. I need to do it for me and for my children so that they can have something to look through that is all about him and them and this special time in our lives. That's what this hobby is for, isn't it. I know I won't share every page I make here, on the blog, some are just too tender. But, I'm getting better at handling this thing we call grief and this is okay for me now.
So, I printed out one of the pictures that the nurses took at the hospital and used my Silhouette to cut out the title. I love how it wraps around the picture. I used a piece of my architectural trace paper that I actually cut from the edge of one of my college drawings and pleated it, sewed it and adhered it to the page. SRM stickers and some washi along with basic grey flare and adhesive cork finish it off.

I hope you find scrapbooking as therapeutic as I do and that it gives you as much joy as it does me.
Have a great week.

Baby Boy Scrapbook Layout

Seriously, OH MY GOSH! It has probably been half a year since I scrapped a page. I just adore this picture of my "baby boy" and myself from our family vacation this summer. He's twelve and he towers over me at 6ft tall now. He thinks it's pretty funny. I actually used Scrapbook Steals Midweek Mojo Lolite #2 sketch for this layout. I used some gorgeous papers that my friend Melissa sent me, cuz she's just super nice like that. No matter how big he gets, or how big a stinker he is,
he'll always be my baby boy.

I need to learn how to journal straight when I hand journal but I know he won't mind .

I have used DCWV, October Afternoon and WRMK papers here. The letters are Thickers.

You TOO, don't you forget to be awesome every day!
I love paper :)!!!

Diorama 14th Century Renaissance Italy Map

I love when my love of paper crafting helps my kids. :)

Tessa was tasked with making a diorama for her 5th grade history class. She asked her teacher if it would be okay to do one of the map of Italy in their book and surprisingly her teacher said, "yes". I racked my brain on how to make a map more diorama like :) and this is the result.

I searched the net for an image of Renaissance Italy and then I printed it six times on different colored papers. Tessa cut blocks of the map out of the different colors and then we popped them up with pop dots. The red portion has three layers of dots. She then typed out all of the places and we printed them. I trimmed them for her and she snipped them down to a size that would fit.
I made the shadow box with a Silhouette Cut (Tessa did not help with that part)
She got 100 percent and now she gets to hang it on her wall in her room.
I'm entering this craft into the Scrapbook Steals Monday Craft Madness Challenge #47 to create something WITH your kids or for your kids. :)
Have a great day.

Scrapbook Steals Peridot #9

I actually made some time to scrapbook last night. I need to get the pictures reprinted from somewhere better than my home printer but you get the idea. I love getting together with our family in California and spending time at the beach. All the cousins pair up and play together.
I used Scrapbook Steals Peridot #9 sketch for this layout.

Just a super simple layout to document this time.

Hope you all have a great day. I'm at home with one sick little boy, maybe I can fit some more scrapping in :)

Scrapbook Steals June Blog Hop

WELCOME! WELCOME!
I'm so excited that I get to share this project with you for the Scrapbook Steals June Blog Hop. Today's feature are American Crafts DIY Thickers! They are so perfect to customize for any project.
I first made this shadow box that I made from a Sillhouette cut and filled with various layered and rolled flowers. After filling the box I cut out the pennants and strung them together. I sprayed these Ali canvas Thickers with SC Mr. Huey's Sunset. I love the look.

When it was complete I added it to my photo wall in my living room. So bright and cherry.

Thanks for stopping by and just for kicks here is just one more project I created with the AC Thickers.

I used the LAX DIY foam Thickers for this card. I added glitter and enamel paint to the "U" for a vibrant look. You can add just about anything to the sticky surface of these Thickers. Super fun to play with.

Scrapbook Steals March Blog Hop

Hello there, and welcome to Scrapbook Steals Blog Hop. If you haven't come here from the
Scrapbook Steals blog go ahead and start at the very beginning. :)
Today Scrapbook Steals is featuring
washi tape from
LOVE MY TAPES WASHI TAPE
they have such great scrapbooking supplies to steal every day.

You can find the washi tape flower tutorial on YouTube
WASHI TAPE FLOWER TUTORIAL

One of my favorite ways to use washi is to make rosettes or washi flowers out of it. I paired up this washi with some super fun stamps from the Sweet Stamp Shop!

I had these great pictures of my little guy playing with his cars and "making tracks". I made my own "washi blocks" and cut a decorative edge on them. I think they add a great element to the page.

Lots of fun ways to use washi! Hop on the bandwagon and make your very own
flowers, stripes, and full covered pieces!

Thanks for stopping by now head on over to
BECCI'S BLOG
and see the beautiful things she has created.
