Parky's Pals

My daughter started preschool after my oldest went off to school. She was so lonely. I found this program at our local community center and she has just loved it. Ms. Diana and Ms. Darlene are the sweetest teachers. She'll be leaving preschool and moving on to kindergarten next year and I hope she loves that just as much.

Paper: Scenic Route
Alpah Stamps: Sassafrass Lass
Bird stamp: CTMH

Cutest Bat Girl Ever!

Don't ya think? I mean she looks so darn cute in these pics, I had to scrap em' even though there's no great story behind them. Just my sweet baby girl wanting to be just like her older brother. Had fun with the papers on this lo. Borders around pics are created by using a big scalloped scissor and then notching the center of the scallop with a small circle punch or just freehanding it. It seemed reminiscent of bats. Used a glitter pen on patterned paper to give sparkle and the plastic letters are by the Paper Studio. The pink ruffled trim is from RibbonFX. Clear buttons are from Foo Fa La. Have a great day!

Missing my Hubby & Bargello

I really can't wait 'til Travis gets home tomorrow night. I haven't been sleeping well and the kids are missing him like crazy...he has gotten to visit some really cool church historical sights though, beingin Missouri, he says he wishes I was there, me too honey.

I really haven't done anything productive lately, no time... but I've been worrying and and praying for the people in California dealing with the fires. I can't imagine what they're going through.
This card is made with the Bargello technique on the paper. I seems complicated to do but it's really not once you get the hang of it. A piece of mesh is used over the balloon "basket".
Have a great day.

My Girls

I just have to post and tell you what an amazing Saturday I had. I coach the greatest group of girls in church volleyball. The playoffs and championship game were held yesterday and my girls took second out of nine teams. They're amazing. It was a long day and they gave up over half their Saturday to be there. Thanks, ladies!

I made them up little gift baskets and these cards to go with them. Each card is a bit different but using the same sketch and basics. I used Beate's weekend sketch as a jumping off point. I had to make eight of them, not too many but just enough to drive me nuts. Thanks for taking a peek. Have a great evening.
Recipe:
Stamps: SU Priceless, Sassafrass Lass flowers, SU "thanks"
Inks: Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels (wish you could see how shimmery it is here), Pumpkin Pie, Certainly Celery, Positively Pink, Black Staz-On
Other: Heidi Swapp edge distresser

Happy Halloween, well, not yet, but anyways... a card I had a happy time making. I printed out the sentiment and then painted around the edges with an orange acrylic paint. I then painted the spider and webs in black. The piece de resistance is the pop tab buckle, which I painted with same two colors, and then threaded the ribbon through. Have a gtreat day!

Finally...a page!

For some reason I've had difficulty finishing this page. I tried many different things before finally deciding to draw the paisleys with my water color wonder crayons.
This is my daughter and her closest friend Kate. They were flower girls together in a friend's wedding. Kate's a year older and that has seriously cut into their play time as she has started kindergarten this year. I hope they always remember the fun times they've had though.
Stampin' Up: watercolor wonder crayons
Sassafrass Lass: "Friends" clear alpha stamps and clear flower stamps for title
Paper Studio: Flower Brads
October Moon: "Forever" rub on

Birthday Circus

Jumping through hoops for your birthday. I don't know about this card... I really wanted to do something fun and funky but this might be TOO much. I used my new CB funky circle die cut and added some orange peel stickles to them for dimension The hippo is a Rubber Soul clear stamp. $1 ribbon from Michaels. I wish I could re-do the flower "stem" and have only one beaded stem, but it wasn't a stem to begin with so I just went for it. Artsy interpretations allowed right?

I'm off to work out and to take Tessa to preschool. I need to go see the chiropractor, my arm is still out of wack three weeks after it started acting up.

Have a great day. Misty

You Inspire Me

I was pretty happy with the way this card turned out. I love this paper by Daisy D...so much so that when it was on clearance at HL I probably bought 10 sheets of it. I couldn't help myself. Chipboard Fleur de Lis (sp) from Technique Tuesday. Flower by Prima. Colorbox Chalk Ink around in warm red to color chipboard. Thanks for looking. Have a great day!

Manly Man Card

So I have to make cards like these occasionally for the store. They sell like hotcakes! I just use old pics out of calendars and such. I tried to make this more interesting by using a cuttlebug folder on the background. Ribbon is American Crafts, Brads are Paper Studio, Inspire charm is from WM. Thanks for looking.

Have a great day!

I've been tagged, can you believe it?!!?

Sadie B tagged me to write seven interesting things about myself. Hmmmmmm...
1. I don't like canned green beans but love fresh ones.
2. I love the color orange. It's awesome.
3. I have a BA in Architecture.
4. I've been to the Grand Canyon but I'm afraid to take my children there for fear they'll fall over the edge.
5. I have approximately 30 pairs of jeans but tend to only wear my most favorite comfy ones regularly. I know- gasp.
6. I'm almost neurotic about LOST when it's on, sheesh they're driving me crazy.
7. I read at least a book a week if not more. I wish I could read more but working from home kills that and so does being a SAHM to three and wife to one.

Now I'm to tag seven people.

They Can't Help It!

Jakob, Tessa, Aaron. All sweetness and silliness. I love Jakob's new teeth.

They won't clean their rooms...they drive me mad...they leave trails of tinkerings wherever they go, yet I can't seem to stay upset at them. I wonder why?

Happily Always and Forever

A card for a wedding or for someone you love. I used the Priceless Stamp set from Stampin' Up. Along with a sponge dauber for the Wild Wasabi circle and to ink around the punch out with Apricot Appeal. I also used a blender pen dipped in Wild Wasabi reinker to draw the dots and write "Happily". I used a Zig writer for the yellow dots and to draw the yellow flower. Other inks used were: Soft Sky, River Rock, Groovy Guava from the 2007 in colors. The Always & Forever sentiment is from the CTMH Adorable set. I finished it off with some Icicle Stickles. Thanks for taking a peek.

Sympathy Card for a friend

I had to attend a funeral last week. My friend's father was killed suddenly when his car was hit by a fast moving train at a crossing with no warnings. It was heart wrenching to be there and to think about life and how impermanent it is. I made this card and took the picture at night so it's not the greatest for showing true colors and all.
Stamp A Mania angel stamp in River Rock ink. Prima flower with Paper Studio pearl brad. Glitter pen over wing lines. Green velvet ribbon with cording by offray. Brown chalk ink on edges.
Have a great day!

Tag, I'm it again. HAH!

What is his name? Travis John
How long have you been married? eight years
Who eats more? Oh my goodness, HE does.
How long did you date? Forever, not, well we really didn't date, we were just friends for a year and then he went on a two year mission, came home and asked me to marry him two months later
Who is Older? He is by a few months
Who said I love you first? I'm sure he wrote it in a letter first and then I felt fine with writing it back.
Who is taller? Travis, easily. I'm the short, stout one in this relationsip.
Who sings better? This is not a nice question... although I did get a tape while Travis was on his mission containing a beautiful rendition of "I have a girlfriend here on Earth" sung by Travis and his very willing companion at the time.
Who is smarter? Depends what subject you're talking about...him anything that has parts, me-kids
Whose temper is worse? Definitely, Travis
Who does the laundry? Is this a serious question?
Who does the dishes? Again, I say, "IS THIS A SERIOUS QUESTION?"
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I sleep on the right, always have, always will
Who mows the lawn? Lawn? Oh, you mean the three acres of weeds and yucca we own, well he mows some parts of it.
Who cooks dinner? Me, except on Sundays usually.
Who kissed who first? Holy Majoly, when Travis was officially released as a missionary it was like the spirit of lustful teenager entered his body and took over. Definitely HIM!
Who asked who out? I guess Travis did, in a way.
Who proposed? Travis did, at Christmas time, in front of the Mesa Temple with people everywhere, got down on one knee and everything. So special and I was so stunned. I couldn't believe a RM home for only two months could afford an engagement ring.
Who has more friends? I guess, me.
Who is more sensitive? Travis makes fun of me for crying at the silliest of things, I was reading the Crippled Lamb by Max Lucado to Tessa the other night and couldn't stop the tears.
Who has more siblings? I have one bio and one adopted. He has seven
Who wears the pants? You mean who earns the money or who spends it all? He's definitely the head of this household but I take care of A LOT around here.
Have a great day. We did, at he pumpkin patch.

I've Been A Total Slacker...

Well, when it comes to blogging I have been... but BOY is my house CLEAN! My dear, gracious, wonderful, in-laws are coming to visit us next week. Hopefully the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta will be an exciting time for them. The kid's favorite thing is the balloon glow...an evening event when the balloons all "light" up at the same time. It's gorgeous and such a awe inspiring thing.

I'm sorry I haven't posted my other state fair winning entries earlier, Michelle...tee hee. So, here goes. Second place for my haunted halloween card which uses actual dried up grass from outside.
Second place for my cowboy kid card you can find on a previous post. And Second place for the faux batik aligator/hippo card you can find on a previous post. Third place for a Mom/Daddy two page lo I did of our family at the duck pond.

Second place for a handstitched layout I did about Jakob and his love for bubbles.
Second place for a two page layout I did for Easter 2007. Thanks for looking.
Have a great day!
