80's Charm Necklace

I'm so glad that I still have this little gem from when I was Tess's age. She loves looking at all of the charms and wearing it around for fun.

I've lost many charms over the years but the ones that are here still crack me up. A pink toilet, a pipe, a cigarette lighter, and a handgun. Now those are all things a little girl loves to wear around her neck. :)
Hope you're having a great week and find some sweet gems of your own.

Sharing some more spookiness...grossness...

Thank you Wal-Mart cake decorating person for making my day a lively one. Shhhh, Frank. That lipstick is horrible. No, WAIT, it's Michael Jackson come back to haunt us in the form of a cake.
Poor Kitty got half run over.

What my eyes look like when Jonah stays up all night.

Ummmmm, Paris should sue her make up artist.

Do skeletons even HAVE brains? Come ON!
Have a great day.

Aren't you so very proud of me?

Edited to add: my ribbon spools are on cafe curtain extension rods which are held away from the wall with rod brackets. I'll try to do close ups soon. My punches are also on those cheapo curtain rods. Clean, clean, clean! And I even made a card afterwards. I'll post that later because it came out caaaute. I am getting rid of a lot of stamps that were just collecting dust on my shelves. I know I should get rid of more but it's a hard thing to say goodbye to your babies. Did you know that I love Georgia O'keefe's work. Jenn, when are you going to come and help me sand and stain the two nativity sets I ordered...was that two years ago? Well they're in my project box right under my table so as not to be forgotten this year. Anywho, I'm off to the pumpkin patch the freezing October morning. Have a great day.

Keep on Rollin'

A manly card for a manly man?!?! I don't know. It's for the store. The images are from Inkadinkado. I colored in with Zig Markers.

So, I went out to the garden to take pictures and it just looks like a jungle. When it was first watered some of our seeds moved down slope and so we ended up with carrots and lettuce ALL over the place.

Things are doing well though. We've got pumpkins, squash, ONIONS, chives, LETTUCE, CORN, carrots, peppers, maybe an eggplant, cucumbers and some watermelon.

Popped- 34 weeks

I feel like I've popped...it's getting so hard just to get out of my own darn bed these days. Not to mention I feel like my bum is a mile wide. SIX more weeks of growing...CAN I DO IT? Ugh. This little boy is certainly worth it, well, he'd better be,.smiles. Gosh, I need a hair cut...and soon. Thursday is registration for school, my two oldest will be on their way to second grade and kindergarten respectively. Crazy how fast the ride of life can roll at times. Everything is coming together though, school supplies a couple of new things to wear. I'm wondering if I will ever fit back into my size 6's after this bambino...hehehe.
I still haven't gotten my copy of Breaking Dawn yet...I'm trying to be real patient with Amazon. I guess that's enough rambling for today. I've got a baby shower tomorrow morning and a follow up appt for me in the pm...but I do have a super cute card to post as well as some vaction layouts I've finished up. Take care and have a super day. Ooh and had yummy (evil) creamy chicken with rice for dinner tonight. I will post the recipe soon. So easy and SO GOOD!

Breaking Dawn

Stephenie Meyer was on Good Morning America this morning...love her. She only gave one detail about the book away and it's that she got to write a wedding in this one. It's probably not even Bella and Edward's...oh well. I guess the book'll be coming out at midnight tomorrow night, but since I preordered from Amazon, I won't see mine for a couple of days. That's okay though, I love the suspense. I know it's really not THE END because Twilight will be written from Edward's perspective, something to look forward to in the coming years. I'm sure we'll have lively discussions (JennyBenny) about this "final" chapter in our favorite love story.
Ooooh and the movie comes out in December...at first I really DID NOT want to see it, but after seeing a clip of it on MTV.com I am definitely up for the adrenaline rush.
Take care and have a great day!

For baby's book

Yes, I'm growing...more and more each day. I used Challenge #7 over at Kim Watson's blog as a starting point on this lo. Papers are from Making Memories, Stampin up and DCWV. Prima flowers. Letter stamps by Technique Tuesday. Memo journaling stamp is from SU's Office Accoutrement set. I used a punch piece of metal and some yellow paint to get the polka dots. Dymo labeler for subjournaling. That's about it!
Funny/Not So Funny story...
Lacey, you'll love this.
So Travis brought home a toad that he rescued from a parking lot about two weeks ago. I didn't think it was such a great pet for my little guys because it slept, burrowed in the dirt all day and only came out at night to eat crickets after they were already snoozing...but the kids still caught glimpses of him and they were happy so I relented. Let's just say that it's been about four nights since anyone had seen the toad (three days ago we had noticed evidence that it had been pretty rowdy with it's cricket the night before...ie streaks of dirt on the sides of the tank...but no one thought twice) Well, last night after purchasing twenty more crickets Travis wanted to make sure it would eat and proceeded to try and coax it out of the dirt by spritzing water in the tank...nothing appeared. He then splashed water around on the dirt. That usually does the trick because they think it's raining and come right on up for air...no toad. Next step take all of the rocks and grasses and bark out of the tank and wash it down with the hose outside...NO TOAD!!! Ladies and gentleman there is at the present time a tiny, two inch toad, located somewhere within my abode and I know he can't be doing well. I think when we move in five years or so I might come across a petrified toad...ugh! Lesson: never let your husband bring a wild animal into your home and expect it to stay in the comfortable, climate controlled habitat you have created for it.

I'm a sucker for...

Beautiful sunsets. I probably need to do a whole album with the pictures I've taken of New Mexico sunsets and sunrises. I took these pictures Wednesday evening. It's amazing the pictures our Heavenly Father paints for us. Jakob is the one who ran in to tell me about it because he was so excited and then Tessa and Aaron sat out on the back porch and watched the colors change...and the cat playing in our yard.

Just Monkeying Around

I know just who will be the recipient for this little monkey treat of a card. For a hint visit my friend Jenny's blog. She recieved such a wonderful little blessing this past week. We are so thrilled for her and her family.
Monkey stamp is from CTMH. I used my zig markers to fill in different colors because it's a solid stamp. There's some River Rock double stitched ribbon with some added bliss. Copper mini brads and some fun paper.
We had a wonderful time at the park and library today. I also managed to get gas in my car...for a little bit cheaper than it was last time I filled up...almost 10 whole cents! Who would have ever thought we'd be happy about $3.79 for gas?!?!?
Have a great day!

I'm alive and exhausted...

I'll just start off by saying that this summer has been a non stop RIDE! My mom and stepdad came out for the fourth of July and we hung out with friends...that was great. They brought us a really special treat of a car seat stroller combination. Now we can actually bring the baby home from the hospital when he comes.

And well, since the fourth the kids and I have been doing activities such as nature hikes and making plant collages and going to a coal mining museum in Madrid, NM and going to the library for their summer programs and reading and building rock walls and tending the garden and and cross stitching and making homemade pita bread and hummus (YUMMY!) just EVERYTHING! So sorry, I haven't been around but here's just a little update with pictures.
Have a great day!

California adventure- Pic Heavy

Everyone calls them sand crabs but they're not the kind of crabs you think of when you hear that word...they're more like bugs that burrow in the sand and they range from very small to quite large...the boys and girls loved digging for them in the wet sand I personally wish they'd never come out of the sand.

It's hot in the CA desert and the kids love Grammy and Grampy's pool...I loved how Jakob totally thought he could swim and jumped in the deep end...in turn, I almost ended up jumping in in my church clothes to save him...here is is in front with floaties, the safe bet.

Aaron's expression in this picture just cracks me up. This was our first trip down to the beach and he wanted to wear his bucket on his head...Tessa wanted to copy him but hers was too small.

There's this really neat conglomeration of fast food places and train cars in Barstow. I ate a chicken Caesar salad at 8:00pm while the kids enjoyed happy meals...well, all except Tessa who was passed out cold. Travis, ever the "health nut" had a double quarter pounder with cheese. (FYI on our way home from the beach we stopped at a Foster's Freeze and he had this burger called the Big Boss...I wouldn't have touched it with a ten foot pole...but he was in heaven...it had swiss cheese, onion rings, bacon and I think some kind of thousand island sauce...he's still working that one off)
Every year we camp near Santa Barbara I see this building and I say to myself, Misty, you really need to take a picture of that old building before it's gone forever, this year I did. I have no idea what it used to be...it says Rio Grande Oil Co on the sides...probably has something to do with the nearby railroad. Has some cool Morracan styling.

I just love this pic of Tessa with Grampy, reminds me of the good ol' days.

One of the best things about our campsite this year was that someone had hung a swing (branch) from a tree and the kids absolutely loved it.

Aaron and cousin Reid, Jakob and Luke with a dead rattlesnake, dinosaurs in AZ, Aaron Crocket, Cousins on a couch, Cool Travis, Boys in tree, Nice Shades Aaron, Grammy and Grampy, Luke and Jakob in sand, Travis building rock sculptures, the tinniest fish EVER to be caught on a hook, SPONCH!, Bathing beauty Tessa, Our Family, Grampy and Tessa looking at sand cockroaches.

Another Ultrasound Everything is All RIGHT!

He's still a bit shy but he's definitely a he and he's gorgeous (to me anyway). My babies always have their arms in their faces. I think he might be smashing he little nose just a bit though. He seems to have the look of my youngest. Their noses are similar. They said he's weighing about 2.5lbs and is in the 55th percentile. I don't really trust those measurements because so many of my friends have been WAY off. I hope to scrap some and make a thank you card tonight for the girl who watered our garden while we were away. Until then. Have a great day.

So, We're Back

We're back from our vacation and I've yet to upload the umpteen pictures I took, but here's one I took back at the end of May. Tessa cracks me up with her pose.
I got a package in the mail from Sue Daly that I need to make something with so hopefully I'll do that soon, but I've got a TON of laundry from the trip. Camping out is a dirty job. Love it though. Have a great day and hopefully I'll get my creative hands dirty soon.

Girl's Night Out

We try to get together for birthdays, just the girls ya know. Sometimes we go out every other month and sometimes it's more frequently. This particular night we enjoyed New Mexican food, I pesonally had a stuffed sopaipilla. So stinkin' yummy. I wish I had a pic but it was quite dark in there. The floral paper is flocked with the orange and I used my SU Office Accoutrements set for the journaling block and flowers. Orange Peel Stickles for bling and buttons from various sources.
Things are going along swimmingly. We leave for California in 9 days and we're all so excited! We'll be gone for ten days. I just need to find someone to water our garden and trees while we're gone. I'm thinking the neighbor girl if she's here. I've got to get our little trees planted today so I hope you all have a great day and I'm off!

Dear Husband

So I haven't mentioned what we did for our anniversary...we went out to dinner at an upscale BBQ place. Travis didn't think it was that great but I loved their sauce and my chicken was cooked to perfection. After dinner we went to see The Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian. Wow, the special effects were amazing. I thought the storyline fell a little short, but I'm a book lover so what can I say. This is the card that I made for Travis. It's different for me, but I love the way it turned out!
The funniest thing about the card I gave him and the one he gave me was what we wrote to eachother. It was like we were reading each other's minds. Verbatim. I laughed out loud at how alike we've become in our thinking. The children also helped Travis pick out a pair of earings for me! They're darling. I told Trav he could buy a scroll saw from Craig's List...I just didn't know which one would be the best one...so I'm letting him choose.
"Gotcha" puffy sticker from SEI. Paper is from Scenic Route. Image rub-ons are all from Heidi Grace. That's pretty much it. Have a super Sunday.

Jakob's Teacher So Rocked!

I made a template with my circle punches and then rolled my Whimsy wheel over the template. I traced around the circles with a fine tipped pen. Removed the template and colored the images in. I then replaced the template and chalked the circles in for more definition. This is for my son's teacher. It says "Teachers touch hearts forever". I used my dymo labeler for the quote.
On the inside I printed out..."and they can't live on apples alone, so here's some chocolate to enjoy!"

Here's Jakob on his first day of 1st grade and on his last day. My, how he's grown. Next year I'll have to get the teacher to stand both times. Heehee. I always think of that Veggie Tales song, Billy Joe McGuffrey...1st day in the 1st grade. He needed 1st aid in the 1st grade... So catchy... follow the link to listen.
