Purple Onion Owl and Bunny Sparkle and Shine

I'm not sure I've ever told you of my love of Purple Onion Designs...specifically Stacey Yacula, one of their designers. I just adore her animals. It may be because my own doodling style is very similar when I draw animals. These are just so precious. Just a heads up though, the stamps come to you as unmounted red rubber. You need to foam mount them or use them in their rubber state if you like.
The Paper Girls Challenge blog is having a challenge this week called "Sparkle and Shine" so I tried to really make this card SHINE!
I began by inking the background panel with distress inks. Faded Jeans and Peacock Feathers are go tos for this panel. I stamped the background trees in Versamark ink and then embossed with Stamp-A-Mania Desert Rain embossing powder. It's super sparkly. I stamped the bunny and the owl and then water colored them used my water brush and Stampin' Up  Smokey Slate ink and Vintage Photo Distress ink. A little Tattered Rose and Picked Raspberry for the bunny's cheeks and ears. I used my Wink of Stella clear glitter brush to add in some snow hills. I wish I had some white flocking powder because I think that would have looked even more awesome.

The owl's eyes were filled in with Inkssentials Enamel Accents white enamel first and then I added in black enamel for the pupils. I added black enamel for the bunny's eyes and nose. Sorry, my pictures don't do it justice.
Hope you're having a crafty week!

Growing in Unity: Day 1, Sew Happy

Hello there and welcome to my first day of my Growing in Unity posts.
I will be posting a project each day that will use Unity stamps.
Be sure to leave a comment each day for more chances to win
TWO Unity Itty Bitty's
of your choice from Unity Stamp Co.

Up first is this sweet little number with the "Sew, Sew, Sew" set.

I also used some of my Kiwi Lane templates to get a cool paper wave.

And finally, I stitched a running stitch along the side of my card with some twine. I have so many friends that are crafty in the sewing department and I'm just not so I can't wait to give this to one of them.

All Tim Holtz Distress Inks
Peacock Feathers
Dried Marigold
Fired Brick
Aged Mahogany

Linking my card up to the Paper Girls Challenge #25 Twine.

I Sure Can Pick 'Em

Paper Girls Challenge and Scrapbook Steals

I can't believe I actually scrapbooked!!! It's a back to school miracle. I used Scrapbook Steals
Jade #4 Sketch as my jumping off point for this layout and I used the Paper Girls Challenge #23 to use ledger paper in some way on my project. This is a layout about my friend Jennay and I. Our families went raspberry picking this summer and we spent WAY too much money on raspberries (like $40.00 because I misread the price of a bucket)...but we ate every last one and they were so yummy. So here's to you, Jen, my karaoke queen.

I am really happy with how it came out. Seriously in love with Basic Grey's Fact & Fiction collections.

I used OA Sprinklers to grunge it up a little

Whenever I see that meme about not being afraid to look stupid because nothing great will ever happen to you I always think of Jenn.
Friends to the end babay!

Neon Christmas

Paper Girls Challenge #22
Use NEON
and if you want a little extra challenge...
make it merry!

This is my first foray into using neon on a project. I wore enough of it in the 80's to last two lifetimes and I'm not going back there anytime soon. Hahaha. That being said I DO really like the way this card came together. Hope your day is shaping up to be quite awesome.
Have a crafty day.
