Bug Hunter Topaz #10

Layout for the Scrapbook Steals Topaz #10 sketch. If you haven't joined the ladies over at SS in one of their sketch challenges please do...they're getting ready to start a WHOLE NEW SET OF 10 sketches. Random prize drawing with each completed sketch and a BIG PRIZE drawing for completing ALL 10 in a series. The sketches are posted each Wednesday on their blog and they have a super active FB page. They have amazing savings on two separate deals of the day!! I am just giving my opinion and have in no way been compensated for this post (other than making great friends that I can share this hobby with :)).

I printed out 10 things Jonah loves to do and put them in this pocket taht I altered with stitching and washi tape. I free hand cut the patterned paper on the base, adhered it and then hand stitched around it!

I created teh title background with a piece of cardstock and a punched out piece of ppr that I cut in half.

I wanted to highlight the stink bug so it was rhinestones to the rescue.

Such a sweet little guy... I'm glad my use of girly papers and rhinestones actually are okay with this boy themed bug layout!
Have a wonderful day!

Jellys Galore: Topaz #7

I used a wonderful sketch by Charissa Miller at Scrapbook Steals to start of this layout!

I hand painted the jellyfish...at first I started out just painting them at the scallops and that just looked to uniform to me so I started painting in more jellies. I love how some turned out. I don't normally paint on my layouts ( I have a few times)...but I just really had no paper that would go with these gorgeous pictures from the Shedd Aquarium.

Rhinestone jellies added for flair.

I choose to keep living-keep creating-keep being who and what I am in honor of those who no longer can. I will never forget what happened on September 11th 10 years ago and I will always try to remember that living in this country is a privilege and a blessing.
Have a wonderful Sabbath day.

Poker Face:

Hello There! Just wanted to share with you my latest layout. I started this one off with Scrapbook Steals MWM Topaz #6 Sketch. Kristy always does such a great job inspiring us. This is my little guy, Aaron, being a total ham. I sometimes think he looks a bit like a leprachaun. So mischievious. The first four days of the school year he was put on yellow three times and red FOUR. I'm happy to report that the second and third weeks have been GREEN all the way. He just has this bubbly personality and it's hard for him to contain it.
The chip circles are Scenic Route adn teh stamp is Unity Stamp Co.

Papers from left to right. October Afternoon, Echo Park, Scenic Route, Sassafras Lass, The Girl's Paperie. The arrow is from Scenic Route.

October Afternoon issued a challenge to paint, mist or ink PMI on your layout. I used a die cut piece of paper and some craft paint to stencil the background.

Labeling font printed out for the title and coordinating beads sewn on.

My monkey boy journaling.
Hope you're all having a super Labor Day!
