Cupcake Box and Lawn Fawn Yeti

It was my friend's birthday yesterday to I pulled out my trusty Silhouette and downloaded a cut file for a cupcake box.. 8.5x11 cupcake box This one was super easy to cut and put together. I love the shaped of it and that it holds the cupcake securely.

Here's the fun little card that went with the treat.
She really is a rare find. So talented and giving.

I used the cut outs to stamp her name and put a label on the top of the box. You could add acetate to the window as a final touch.
I would just suggest to be careful when gluing together that you check to make sure it's not so "tight" that it doesn't close properly.
Have a crafty day!

Let's Taco 'Bout It Birthday Card

There are so many birthdays in the month of January. I have a super friend whom I adore and I love to give her silly things. This stamp set from Sweet Stamp Shop is perfect for that.

Nicole does such a good job of coming up with funny stamps. This set is called "Taco Bout It" They're great to color and play with and they're not too pricey.

Have a great weekend.

My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge

Today I'm joining up with the MFT sketch challenge #211
There's a lot of birthdays to celebrate in January.

I used Stampin' Up inks to color in the image. Rich Razzleberry and Eggplant Envy for the most part. A little Crushed Curry and So Saffron too.
It's hard to tell in the picture but the gray banner is shimmer paper. OOPS, I forgot to cross my "t"...well, at least I dotted my "i". Hahaha. Hope you have a wonderful day.
*** All fixed, now.

Boy Monster Birthday Card

Aaron had another friend turn 10 and I had another opportunity to make a card. I love water coloring and it's so fun to see the images come to life.

Hope that your week has been extra special. Have a super day!

Happy Birthday Paper Pieced Animal Party

Today is a special day for a friend of mine. I've known her since the eighth grade. She is truly amazing and such a fun person to be around. She is a giver of herself and so helpful. I'm so glad I got to see her on her birthday and celebrate her special day with her.I think we're getting better with age!
I decided to make an animal card for her because she has the cutest little doggie with the biggest personality. She loves her boy!

Here's to many more years spent celebrating together!

Washi Tape Circles

I had a lot of fun designing this card. I placed coordinating washi tapes in lines and then punched circles out of it. I then cut them in half and arranged them on the card front. Fancy pants chipboard alpha and glitz alpha stickers finished off the card.. Thanks for stopping by.
Have a crafty weekend.

Li'l Buckaroo turns 8

This cowboy stamp is from Stampin' Up and is called "Cowboy Kid". I water colored the image with Buckaroo Blue, Riding Hood Red, Creamy Caramel, Soft Suede, Old Olive and Marigold Morning inks. The sky is done with Pool Party ink. I colored his face with Copic markers The red paper and star pin are Basic Grey and the wood paper is MME. Vintage ribbon.

I can't believe this crazy little dude is turning 8 today. I know we were put on this earth to be tested and challenged and my sweet boy is definitive proof of that. He has the hugest heart and the wildest imagination out there. He loves to play with his best friend and his brothers and sister. He does not, however, like to clean unless I'm right there alongside him every step of the way. He loves to give me hugs and is super affectionate. His brain is a super sponge and anything his teacher tells him he comes home and repeats verbatim  and with enthusiasm. You should hear him recite the inscription found on the Statue of Liberty...he amazes me. He is passionate and has strong feelings that are hard for him to express sometimes. I love him with every bit of my soul. His favorite movie right now is Wreck it Ralph . He really likes history and math and science...he had a hard time choosing ;). I think he may have a crush on a girl at school but he adamantly refuses to admit it. His smile melts even the most frigid heart. We're so lucky.

Happy birthday to my Li'l Buckaroo. Thank you for helping me to grow in so many ways.

My Favorite Things Sweet Friend

I felt that her skin was too pale so I added in some color and some shading.

She's so sweet. I couldn't pass her up. This little darling reminds me of my girly.

She's stamped in Memento ink and colored with Spectrum Noir markers. I was making this card for a challenge but it just didn't cut the mustard ;). I think it will be my dear Tess' birthday card.
Have a sweet day!

Polka Dot Card Pinspired Challenge #1

I made this card for Pinspired Challenges #1 Challenge.

I loved the brightly colored polka dots and the jelly beans on the cake so that's where I went with my card. You should come and join in the fun. I began by making a mask with circle punch outs and then sponged in different colored inks through the mask. I will try to get a tutorial on that soon. I hope my friend Erin likes her birthday card.

Used Distress Inks in
Picked Raspberry
Shabby Shutters
Tumbled Glass
and
Shaded Lilac
Oh yeah, and lest I forget. I will be posting a picture of the giveaway goodies sometime this week.
Have a super day!

Birthdays are the Best!

Hey there friends. How is the new year going for you? I know it's only going to get busier but I had a bit of time to craft today after the chores were done. I used Retro Sketches #44 for this card. I love how easy their sketches are to follow. My kiddos go back to school tomorrow and there are a bunch of dental cleanings will be taking care of but for now I want to wish one of my dearest friends a happy birthday. She's one special mama!
Have a super day.

Party On Dudes

I had a bit of time to myself last night so I sat down and created this card using the Scrapbook Steals Monday Craft Madness theme to "USE METAL".

The heart charm is metal and I thought it fit in well with the colorful monsters from Paper Smooches.
Hope you're having a sweet day!

Lego Minifig Shark Cake Birthday

The cake that the boy requested complete with shark (bath/swim toy) and deep sea diver lego minifigure. You should have seen me feeling up those packages of legos to find the one that had the diver in it! Jonah picked out THIS CAKE and I tried my best to replicate it with my uber lacking cake making skills. I had the hardest time finding a shark to go on top too until I stumbled upon this pool toy on clearance at Target. WOOT.

Yup, there are no more babies here. I have a four year old. Time has just gone by so quickly. He sure is a lovable handful. He definitely makes my days full.

In keeping with the shark theme of his birthday I made a shark card using the Stampin' Up Silly Sealife set.

He make my heart melt. He got new church clothes and a hot wheels race track for his birthday.
Some fun facts obout Jonah.
He loves trains and cars.
He is not really afraid of anything unless it's the Monster House movie
(he was hiding behind the chair for that one).
He loves his friend Nathan
He would eat tortillas every day if he could.
He is pretty mischievous when it comes to finding mommy's stash of chocolate.
He's learning to say the "s" sound on words so instead of "cooter" he'll say "scooter".
He has pretty awesome dance moves.
He's my only child to ever have stitches.
He lost both his big toe nails from a 5 mile hike we did and he never complained about it.
He loves his brothers and sister and tries to do everything they do.
He likes to use my punches and create confetti storms with the shapes.
He's got rolling his eyes at me down pat.
He is having a great time at pre-school two days a week.

Hope your day is super sweet!

Watercolor Hearts Make a Wish

I had such a fun time getting dirty while making this card. My fingers are all inked up and I found my lost heat gun!!!!

Punched a few hearts from watercolor paper and dragged them through some ink washes. I used Monday Card Madness Sketch #91 for starting off with.
Hope your holiday was great and that you keep having fun this week!

How Do I Have an 11 Year Old???

He is my joy and my life and also the pain in my butt! What is it with this age-the teasing and pestering of younger siblings does eventually taper off right??? Someone please tell my I'm right?!?!?! Well, the boy asked for cheesecake for days and then on the morning of his birthday changed his mind to red velvet with cream cheese icing-so I delivered like any super mom would.

For the past three years he has asked for chicken and dumplings-my grandma's recipe-and I make it once a year :). It's delicious. For some reason last year was really warm on his birthday and we were all sweating through dinner :)

Oh, he's ecited all right and in need of a good haircut-but he wants "the guy" to do it and not his mama. (The guy is the barber down the road :)

Oh thank you, oh thank you after Christmas clearance sales-for without you my children might go hungry and unclothed-not to mention without awesome birthday gifts. Total for both lego kits under 25 dollars. TOTAL STEAL. He was so funny and tried to stay up late building them and set his alarm so he could work on it before school in the morning.
Some things about my eldest kiddo that may be of some interest.
He is really helpful when he wants to be...really responsible.
He does this thing where he'll be sitting there watching t.v. or talking and he'll notice that the table runner is out of place or the rug is askew and he'll absentmindedly fix it-even getting up to do so. I think he must get this from me.
He's just as capable of living in filth as the other two hooligans but he's quicker to get it back in order.
He loves basketball, scouts, camping, riding his bike, jumping on the trampoline, drawing, math, science and archery.
He's wicked good with electronics (that might just be a sign of his generation).
He always gives me a kiss goodbye whether he's leaving from the house or the car. He's taller than me-I'm 5'6".
He earned gold honor roll at school this semester.
He loves to help his dad on any "project" that's going on-tomorrow that means going to butcher some cows to help out a neighbor-he's almost morbidly excited about that one. (I may have to worry)
He has the best dimples ever.
He's a great reader but usually doesn't want to stop go, go, going to settle down and read.
He can eat more than both his dad and I combined-the bottomless pit.
He is probably allergic to dairy products-we're testing the theory right now (thank you soy milk)-because we couldn't handle the smell anymore ;)
He now sleeps on the bottom bunk but once fell off the top and gave himself a pretty good shiner.
He's a pretty sentimental guy and he has a great big heart.
I love my boy

Roarin' Good Birthday

So, I turned another year older today :)...fitting that I would post a birthday card. I purchased this Jelly Park digital stamp from this etsy shop and just had to make a card for my guy that's turning 11 in two days.
I used glossy accents on his teeth and cut out hexies from some paper I've had for some time.

I colored the image with ink and a blender pen. I think I like watercoloring a bit better myself.

I hope your day is filled with fun and happiness.
