Hey There Chickie: Paper Smooches

This little chickie from Paper Smooches' Spring Fling set is just so adorable. Reminds me of Chicken Little. I feel like it's taking forever for spring to get here so I keep making cards that cheer me up.

Just a fun little card to brighten your day.

Peony Love: Altenew

I made this card for a friend. She is attending a wedding and I thought this would be a cute card for that occasion. I love Corals and oranges! My favorite colors. This stamp set from Altenew is super dreamy. I used the stamp press that my hubby made for me. It's a diy MISTI. I still haven't lined it up perfectly. Beautiful no matter what though.

The background piece of paper was left over from some Distress Ink Smooshing I was doing. The cardboard die cut was left over from another project I worked on a few months ago. I used some SU white craft ink and the Jenni Bowlin teardrop stencil over it for some interest.

Hope you're having a fantastic day.

Happy Spring!

Oh, how I wish it was full into spring.
This is a lovely Paper Smooches set Happy Spring.
I stamped the eggs in a more neutral color so that the watercoloring would shine.
Have a wonderful day!

Paper Smooches March Challenge

This month's challenge over at Paper Smooches was BIRTHDAYS!
I have a special friend who always cheers me up when I see her. We chat about our similar job experiences and comfort one another when stressed.
I thought the Chubby Chums set would be a perfect fit for our fun friendship.
The paper is Basic Grey. I cut a window panel out of the card front, put a piece of acetate in the window and then popped it up with foam to create a shaker card.
Head on over to the Paper Smooches Blog to participate.

Stay Crafty!

Gold Baby Shoes

I embossed these little baby shoes with gold embossing powder. I highlighted the shoes with a bit of pink. This card went to my college friend who just had a beautiful baby girl. Her first child. I remember what that was like...kinda. :)

Paper Smooches Gift Tags

On Friday, it snowed a ton here in New Mexico. On Friday, I had to substitute at school. On Friday, I was 10 minutes late to school and had almost gotten into and icy accident. On Friday, the copy machine stapled the two separate tests (for different grades) in a random order. On Friday, I only had four students in one of my 7th grade classes. On Friday, those students took the wonky test and didn't even complain once that they had no clue what the heck the questions were asking!!!
On Friday, I figured out the mistake at the end of the day. Oh boy!

So, on Monday I made these cute little tags for those four students. It was my way of saying, "Thanks for being such troopers and rising to a challenge!"
The BEST THING is that one of the students is obsessed with WALRUSES. What are the chances? I love this PS set!

My Monday was much better than my Friday. :)
I wrote a little note on the back of each tag and told them that our Friday was "Nutty".
NUTTY BUTTY'S rule!

Graduation Card with Cap and Tassle

Sweet Stamp Shop gets SOPHISTICATED!
Break out your old metal rimmed tags! You know you have them...hidden away in some drawer... somewhere :)
I used the small graduation cap from the TOO HIP set to create this great grad card. Change up the color scheme to make it more feminine and color the cap any color you'd like. This is such a versatile set.

The sentiment is from the JUST THE BASICS set.

I know graduation is months away, but I'm one more card prepared than I was before. ;)
Have a great week!

Happy Birthday Paper Pieced Animal Party

Today is a special day for a friend of mine. I've known her since the eighth grade. She is truly amazing and such a fun person to be around. She is a giver of herself and so helpful. I'm so glad I got to see her on her birthday and celebrate her special day with her.I think we're getting better with age!
I decided to make an animal card for her because she has the cutest little doggie with the biggest personality. She loves her boy!

Here's to many more years spent celebrating together!

Thanksgiving Place Cards Pilgrims and Indians

I'm over at the Paper Girls Challenge Blog today. We're making THANKFUL projects. Every year I say I'm going to make place cards for our table and every year it gets down to crunch time and never happens. Well this year WE WILL HAVE THEM! :)

I used Stampin' Up's Turkey Talk stamp set for the pilgrim and Indian images. I punched a bunch of leaves, folded them and then inked the creases. I inked the edges of each place card and then stamped each person's name. I think they turned out so cute. (Still have to make grandma's :)).
Have a crafty day!

Hello Foxy Papertrey Ink Card

I made this card for my cousin's birthday. She's one heck of a gal and super foxy! :). I adore this little fox from Papertrey Ink. He also has a coordinating diecut. Double bonus.

I used regular crepe paper and cut petals out of it that I put together with glue dots. I added a bit of glue on the edges and sprinkled on the glitter. I also used SRM stickers that I got as a prize from the Practical Scrappers card contest for the dotted lines. Hope you're having a great day.
Take care and stay crafty.

Cowboy Ben Kanobi

Aaron's friend turned 8 this last week and he said he really liked Aaron's card when he saw it. He really likes Star Wars  so I asked him if he wanted a card with a cowboy too and he nodded a fervent "yes". :) So, that was that.

I'm so glad I bought Stampin' Up's Cowboy Kid stamp set when they had it. It's so fun to color and I love using it to make cards for young'ns ;).
Hope you're having a sweet day.

Vintage Challenge and Blog Give Away

I made this card for the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge which was to make a card in VINTAGE style.  I'm not sure this card is exactly vintage but it's my interpretation. :)

I stamped the suitcase image from Paper Smooches "Get Outta Town" set on a book page and fussy cut it. I like the look it gives to the image. I then colored the cases with my prisma markers. I added texture by stamping a porcelain background stamp on the base paper. The patterned papers are from Basic Grey's Fact & Fiction collections.
Hope you're having a great weekend. Take care! Stay crafty.
PS
I will be doing a Give Away on my blog in a few days because wonder of all wonders I've reached 60,000 hits. I think that calls for a celebration, oh, that and the fact that it's gonna be my BIRTHDAY!
