Water Color Challenge Over at Paper Girls!

I love dabbing my distress ink pads, which are water reactive, onto a craft mat, spritzing them with water and then dragging my paper across the pools of color. You can get amazing results with this technique.

So, the newest challenge over at the Paper Girls Challenge Blog is to use watercolor in your project. I'm so glad I get to guest in on this one. I LOVE water coloring-the traditional way and with distress inks like I've done here. Come join in with challenge #36.

I drew in some waves and rocks with colored pencils and when I swiped the paper over the distress ink that I had pooled on my craft mat it resisted the ink in those areas.

Once your initial swipe is dry you can dab your paper around to pick up droplets of color for another cool effect.

Sunflower Explosion over at The Paper Girls Challenge Blog

I'm over at the Paper Girls Challenge Blog today. The challenge was to use at least four journaling cards on your project. These pictures that I've been wanting to scrap for forever were perfect for that because I had a lot to say about this experienc.
I paired my Project Life journaling cards with some Amy Tangerine stickers a and American Crafts Thickers. I also used a a Paper Smooches stamp in my slide holder to the right.
A little washi tape finishes everything.
Have a wonderful day!

Wood Grain Paper Girls Challenge

Paper Girls Challenge #24
The new PG challenge is to use wood somehow on your layout. I used my SU woodgrain background stamp and created a few different patterned papers with it. This week's Monday Craft Madness #10 over at Scrapbook Steals was to use Sparkle and Shine.
I also used Scrapbook Steals Jade #6 Sketch to create this layout.

The papers are a mix of handmade, MME and Basic Grey Fact & Fiction

Hope you're having a super time. Headed out today to see Les Miserables for the second time :)

Take me to the Library

Here's my final entry into the Paper Girl's Challenge # 23 to use Ledger Paper. I also used my Geek Chic stamp set from Sweet Stamp Shop for this page about my little and his escapades at the library. And big thanks to my friend Cristine who gave me the stamp set with the doodled arches. He loves going and crafting. Some day I'm sure he'll love the story just as much. He has major ants in his pants.

The circles are from the Basic Grey Fact & Fiction Collection plus some punched book page ones. I hope your weekend is going great!

Color Fun Pearl #7 and Paper Girls

The newest Paper Girl's Challenge is "Get Messy". I thought this would be perfect for a layout about the Color Run. I used the Scrapbook Steals Pearl #7 Sketch as my base.
I took a piece of Whisper White Stampin' Up paper and spritzed some ink sprays around on it to start. Then I laid out my pictures and started adding washi tapes that coordinated.

This aqua color is one of my homemade inks that I made using a tutorial by Van Nguyen. I think I may need an itty bitty piece of washi in this upper corner to ground the layout and trim a bit of the long pink one but other than that I'm HAPPY!
Have a super great day and make some time to create.
UPDATE****
Here's my updated layout.

Built Tough Papergirls Challenge

We were challenged to create a layout with a photo strip by the Paper Girls. I had these pictures I'd printed from a Mothers and Sons activity we did and I thought they would be perfect. The boys hammered bunches of nails into the wood to create geo-boards. They had a blast.

I love doing rough and tumble boy layouts just about as much as I love girly layouts...I haven't done very many of those in a while...hmmm.

I used my Extreme Elements stamps from Stampin' Up and some grungeboard with some screw head brads to keep the theme going.
