Faux Batik Birthday Card

One of my dearest friends celebrated her birthday last week.
She has a great blog. She's so crafty and does such amazing things with sewing and
canning and food!! I love her to pieces.
You can visit her at
Mi Espacio Favorito

I used the Faux Batik Technique that I did a tutorial for
HERE
to make this card.
I love the bright purples and yellows together!!
Hope you have a crafty day!

Winter ATC Swap: Snowflakes Galore
I love making ATC's. This is a group I made for a swap I'm participating in this winter.
Twenty-seven in all and so fun to look at.
Twenty-seven in all and so fun to look at.
I used October Afternoon Sprinklers in Ice Box just dripped on the background.
The "brown" snowflakes were stamped with Versamark and then embossed with Stampin' Up's Iridescent Ice embossing powder. I chose the sentiment from one of my favorite hymns.
I love how the kraft background highlights the white flakes.

SWEET STAMP SHOP
I've been having such a great time and I'm glad I get to share with you again today.
I know I say that I adore pretty much every Sweet Stamp Shop set but
this one really takes the cake.
I am an avid herbal tea drinker
(have an suggestions on flavors for me?)
so the
AFTERNOON DELIGHTS
stamp set is one of my all time faves!!!
The tea pot and the sentiments are so perfect together.
I also made this vintage style card with the mason jar image included in the set and
the "Filled with Love" sentiment.

Hello there and welcome to
Sweet Stamp Shop's
November Stamp Release
Blog Hop
You should have arrived here from
Emily's Blog
if not, go ahead and start at the very beginning :).

Got Broccoli?
I did in this super fun "Get Fit" stamp set from the Sweet Stamp Shop.
I wanted to use it in an unconventional way and came up
with this idea for mum like flowers out of the broccoli crowns.
I like the versatility of being able to use stamps for something other than
what they were originally intended for.

You can use it in so many ways too.

I used my MME washi tape to wrap the edges of my book mark and the stack on the card. I like the nice, finished edge it gives.
I made a matching card and book mark for a friend in my book club. Yes, I know most everything is digital nowadays but I still love making book marks :)
The sentiments are some of my most favorite ever. How perfect is "You've wormed your way into my heart"?!?!? WOW!
This sweet couple was a match made in print.

Pumpkin Pals Scrapbook Steals Coral #4

While going through pictures I came across this sweet one of Tess and her bestie, Rachel, at the pumpkin patch. I used my Sassafras kit I just picked up from the warehouse last weekend during the retreat. I know people say they have a hard time working with their papers but I adore them.

Now, if anyone can tell me where to find Mr. Huey's in white I'd be in heaven because my homemade concoction just isn't doing the trick. I had to fill in most of these droplets with my pen.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Kids get today off for fall break and we're pounding T-posts to fence in our property.
Stay crafty my friends.

Life and Lunch
I try to send my kiddos to school with healthful lunches. Homemade items or fun little cheese shapes...I don't want them to get bored of getting a "sack" lunch. I sent hummus with pita chips yesterday as a side and my kids came home complaining that all of their classmates were "grossed out"...told them it "looked disgusting" and all kinds of other negative comments. I feel bad for my kids being made fun of but I feel even worse for the kids that are missing out on great food!
My second grader did say that a few of his classmates tried it and said "yum". I guess beyond second grade you get less adventurous.
Maybe I'll send them with home made sushi next week! Hah

Chevron Banner- Who doesn't love that?

My friend Charity let us know that Practical Scrappers was doing a feature on banners and garlands.
I became the proud owner of some new Studio Calico Mr. Huey's at the Scrapbook Steals retreat and went to town on this card. It's really a hodge podge of MME elements and washi with spray ink ;)
Hope you're all well. I need to get back into the swing of things and
don't worry.
I did not forget about the winner of my Sweet Stamp Shop give away.
Will be posting soon.
Hugs.
